All of the guests were having such fun in the lovely mansion. They ate, chattered about, then ate some more. The highlight of the party seemed to be the kitchen, where there was food, drinks, refreshments, desserts.
Meanwhile, Mr.Boddy silently observed the guests at his party. He couldnāt put his finger on it, but he knew there were too many people. Some of them didnāt seem to look quite the way he could remember. This was worrisome, if there were indeed impostors about.
He was cordial with all his guests and thanked them for coming. But he decided to keep mostly to himself. He spent most of his time with his dear friend Mr. Black.
He also thanked Ms. Ho, his cook, profusely for cooking all the amazing food and on such short notice. It seemed as though she wanted to tell him something about that, but he had other things to attend to, before she could.
Wadsworth was trying to find a way to speak with a few of the party goers privately, as he had some āinformationā they would be interested in. However, he was having trouble recognizing some of the guests. He didnāt want any information going to the wrong ears, so he decided to stay quiet for the time being.
Gradually though, as it got later into the night, the guests started to retire and make their way upstairs to their rooms. There werenāt enough rooms for all 20 guests to have their own bedroom and bathroom, so some volunteered to share. Fortunately, the women seemed to be more comfortable with sharing a bedroom, where as many of the men only wanted to share a bed with the women. Some of the guests were content with the air mattresses, daybeds, and sofas. And some of the more entitled guests, who didnāt seem to care that they were getting all this for free, insisted on having their own bed. Thankfully though it was all worked out in the end, and a comfortable sleeping arrangement was found for everyone.
Ms. Ho and Wadsworth stayed up a bit later that night, to tidy up the place. Ms.Ho put some of the leftover food away, and left some out just in case anyone would want a midnight snack.
Ms. Ho, exhausted from her long day of cooking, retired for the night. Wadsworth however, wanted to go read a book in the lounge with a much deserved brandy in hand. He sat and read for awhile when he thought he heard some scuffling noises. He listened for a moment, but decided it must be his imagination, and continued to read. Soon however, he started to develop a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach; something just wasnāt right. Thinking maybe the brandy wasn't agreeing with him, and being unsettled from the prior strange noises, he decided it was perhaps best to head to bed.
As he stood and made his way from the chair however, he realized he had moved in the knick of time. For from the corner of his eyes, he could see a shadowy figure with the Revolver.
"BANG" The shot was almost deafening in the enclosed lounge.
He ducked, rolled, the ran for the door, throwing it open and heading upstairs. He thought others would have heard the shot, but apparently it was well muted within the lounges confines. Frightened and unsure who it was, he decided it best to lock himself in his quarters for the time being.
āWow," he thought. " Someone just tried to murder me."
He wondered if it could have been an intruder or perhaps, one of the guests. Quite possibly even one of the party goers he hadn't recognized earlier. All possibilities however were frightening and disturbing, especially considering how well the party had gone. Should he call the police?
As unsettling as this was, he decided he needed more information. Perhaps someone would mention something in the morning and it will make more sense then. Yes, he was sure of it. Some sleep will refresh him and work the alcohol out of his system. This would all make more sense in the morning. Calmed a bit now by these thoughts he tried to get some much needed rest. Unfortunately, he had barely drifted off when he heard a blood curdling scream.
He jumped out of the bed nearly tumbling to the floor, and ran out of the door. Apparently, other guests had heard the scream and had run out of their rooms to see what the commotion was as well. Sticking together, they made there way downstairs to where the scream had originated.
There on the floor of the kitchen, was the body of Mr. Black. Lying next to his body were a knife and a wrench. Upon closer inspection, there appeared to be a bloody trail leading from the body to the doorway and beyond. Mr.Black was lying on the floor. He was dead!!! Oh NO!!!!!
Guests screamed when they saw Mr. Black. The house went crazy. People were confused! Terrified! But perhaps no one went crazier than Mr. Boddy. He cried. He grieved. He ran around the house and barred all the windows and locked all the doors.
"This is the only set of keys to access the outside, I will keep them on me for now. Also, these keys..." Mr. Boddy held up his hand exposing some loose keys, "Access the secret passages within the house, I will..."
*Lights go off in the room*
Thump
Arrrrrghhhhh
*Lights come back on*
"What!" Mr. Boddy yelled. "The secret passage keys, who took them. Someone hit me on the back of the head and grabbed them".
"I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS."
"THERE IS A MURDERER IN MY HOUSE!!"
All of the guests were now locked inside the house. Worse yet, there were apprently keys to access secret passages that people now posess. Mr. Boddy wasnāt going to let anyone out until he figured out who killed Mr. Black and recieved all the missing keys.
So who could have committed this atrocious crime? All the guests started to look around at each other suspiciously. They started to getting alibis. But as of right now these are the only facts known:
1) Most of the guests had gone to bed by 1am. Except for Wadsworth.
2) At approximately 4am, Mr. Blackās body was found in the kitchen with a wrench and a knife lying near by.
Mr. Boddy started to ask everyone, āWhere were you at 4am?ā
Everyone begin to answer and speak at once.
āUhh⦠sleeping."
"She was in the kitchen first."
"I saw him in the kitchen first."
"I didnāt do it!!!"
"It was HIM!!!ā
"It wasnāt me!!!"
Mr.Boddy sighed. This wasnāt getting anywhere. The only solution now, would be to explore the mansion and investigate.
Everyone was equipped with tools that would allow them to dust for fingerprints. Certainly this was a foolproof way to figure out who killed Mr. Black.
Wadsworth in the meantime, was more concerned about who tried to kill him. Was it the same person who killed Mr. Black?
So everyone decided to go off and explore the mansion for clues. It was agreed that everybody would meet back in a few hours, and discuss who they thought killed Mr.Black.
This starts the first investigation round in this game.
Everyone has two options for investigating:
1).You may choose one weapon and one room to investigate.
2) You may pick a cellar card.
Weapons: Knife, Candlestick, Lead Pipe, Wrench, Rope, Revolver
Rooms: Kitchen, billiard room, library, study, lounge, dinning room, ballroom, hall, conservatory
Cellar Cards
At night you also have the option of choosing a cellar card. There will be 20 cellar cards in the game- one for each person. The cellar card will either say whether the person is guilty (mafia), or if they are innocent (town).
There is only one of each card- therefore, if you pick a card, Only you will have that card. So the more cellar cards you have, the better.
But it is also very useful to investigate a room and weapon for fingerprints/DNA. So the choice is yours.
Night 0 Start
Start sending in those investigations.
