If you check the chat history of the game you can see that I admit to have PLAYED before on the site. I admitted of having a LONG TIME AGO an account, which I don't remember the password, and which is an account I created with my University's email (lluque@uniandes.edu.co) which was deactivated by the server in 2010 when I graduated. How is this admitting that I currently have multiple accounts? Everything is in the past tense, no expert here but it is clearly a misunderstanding.

Pretty much yes. Send in an e-ticket. They'll probably restore you to your original account and ban this new one. They might make you buy premium, that part I don't know.

Why did you bust him and not discuss with him the problem? This seems so stupid.

Had I stop the game few months after I register, I would have never know I had to use my old account 4 years later, when I probably don't even remember the username, the email adress I used, nor the password.

I hope you're discussing with him privately.

Why should anyone "discuss" it with him? He knew that multiple accounts was forbidden. He knew that the mods could find his old account and restore access to it if he followed the proper procedure. However, he chose to willingly ignore those facts and start another account... Nothing to discuss.

How did he knew? I have been on the site for a while. I discovered that it was forbidden to create another account only by reading the C and A forum and seeing this kind of case.

So, please, tell me, how did he know?

Furthermore, I think this is a totally stupid rules with no sense.
Forbidding people to create several accounts is normal.
Forbidding people to create another account several years after they stop playing is stupid. Busting them ( I dunno if he had premium ) just like that is totally counter-productive if we care about keeping those old players with us.

If I was him, and get busted like that, I'll just leave the site and not even try to come back ever.

Edric, you were very heavy handed in your response to him. It's obvious that he didn't INTEND to be a multi. I would have told him to file an e-ticket to get his old account back. Another one did this just last week and he is now playing on his old account with the new one banned. People think they can't get the old accounts back when they no longer have the email. Meh, I do hope it gets sorted as it was blown way out of proportion by the reporting party in my opinion. Report sure, as this is the right thing to do, but don't be so accusing toward the one who didn't fully understand the rules. My 2 cents.

His story evolved as I gave him the chance to explain. He DID intend to break the rule and he DID know that what he was doing was wrong.

First he said that he created a separate account so that his girlfriend could play. When I asked him about it, why not just create an account for her, he then magically forgot about the "girlfriend" and said he created a second account because he forgot the info for the original account.

No heavyhandedness at all... He clearly knew what he was doing was wrong and I caught him.

It is a shame that someone who follows the rules and reports a cheater is vilified, yet the rule breaker is defended.

Really, you should re-read it. You are making an interpretation of what he said in a twisted way, you're seeing evil where there is not.

Plus, what interest would he have of using another account? There is none. The last account was not used since 2010. So he was not cheating.

Anyway, regardless of what you think Edric, I was not having a problem with the report you did, I am having a problem with the way it seems to be treated by the mods. The guy really didn't play since 2010, create a new account being unable to join the old one, and obviously ignoring that the mod could help him, and he get busted for that.
Maybe ka did pm him the way to be able to play again, I hope so, and I was asking if it was the case. If not, there is a problem.

Hey Edric so apparently you really did not understand my brothers comment regarding the girlfriend, he said, "I use to play with an account along time ago, so I opened a new to show my girlfriend how it works, so we can play in the office".
1st. If he was really a multi he wouldn't admit
2nd. He clearly stated that there was NO WAY for him to reach to the password of his older account (now busted) because his email got deactivated when he graduated from University.
3rd. If he has no access to that email, how was he supposed to get a password
4th. I understand the report, and he agrees with it, however, he clearly tried to make things right, by giving out his email, and information in order for proper verification to take place
5th. As much as I want to call names at you makes no sense because you probably dont even know how to read English
6th. He did kick your ass BAD showing that his risk skills are far from rusty even after not logging in to the website for 4 years
7th. I hope his deal gets cleared because he really likes the website, and he is a hell of a player, and he understands and thinks before acting unlike you

Sorry, I guess my sarcasm wasn't drippy enough. There are other threads talking about the decline in the number of players on this site and how hard it is to get a game started. I don't think this is the correct way to handle someone who returns after 4 years when he only played 5 games on his original account. He's obviously not trying to farm points from his old account or run from a bad reputation. Additionally, they've just hurt the experience of the other players in the games he was in.

Edric, the correct course of action would have been to inform him that he needed to file an e-ticket to get his account back, report it also since that's the correct procedure and leave it at that. You got deeper involved that you should have. I disagree with how this user was treated by you. You did succeed in getting him banned. Perhaps the admins did read his PM messages to find out. I am sure wall messages are also still visible to admins. I am not questioning the admin's decision, and as don said maybe they are discussing with him.

However, there is something called "innocent until proven guilty" and the opposite is not how this user should have been treated. This is not the way to treat someone right off the bat. There is another thing called respect. Anyway, that's all I am going to say on this. Personally, I am not speaking as a mod, but as a fellow user of this website. What I say here holds no more weight than any of the others.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I was trying to join a game with the guy who accused my brother (moscaep85) of being a multi, and I couldnt join since I am know on his foe list, possibly proving that he has NO PROOF and that he knows he screwed up by accusing instead of advising
