the legends are to small ad the boarders and uneven at places.

Also the army shadows are too light and dont appear in the green, yellow or purple continent. Try making them more grey in color that should work =)

I don't like the white border around the black borders...

Malaysia still needs to look more dead.

The territory names are not really properly places especially the long ones.

What do the airports do?

You should adjust the district sizes.

erm u still havent looked at most of my previous suggestions

anyway:
1) change the colours back or lighter than previously, but not this light
2) i noticed that nee soon east and west merged. change the name to nee soon, not nee soon east
3) make the planes darker, possibly all airports get a bonus or something
4) split the large territories (e.g. Hong Kah) and merge the small territories. you might also want to enlarge certain territories, such as choa chu kang.
5)use a different texture for the sea: currently it looks too low quality. i dunno why.
6) make the glow less in size and less glaring
7) Make Malaysia slightly darker
8) use dotted lines for the links
9) impassable borders. for example, the red continent is connected to ALL other continents and u can minimize the number of borders while still maintaining its connectivity and therefore its bonus
10) combine pulau punggol and connect it to ubin
11) better fonts for the bonus please
12) I counted 35 territories. add one more to make 36, so there will only be neutrals

i hope you take my suggestions into consideration

i HAVE looked at many of your earlier suggestions

not so keen on that; people complain that the original colours burn their eyes

ok sure

again, i wont do this until im sure
samuelanonymous wrote:5)use a different texture for the sea

like?
samuelanonymous wrote:8) use dotted lines for the links

hmm ill try that
samuelanonymous wrote:9) impassable borders. for example, the red continent is connected to ALL other continents and u can minimize the number of borders

i think i want red to be this way and but maybe elsewhere ill put more borders
samuelanonymous wrote:10) combine pulau punggol and connect it to ubin

??? i thought you were complaining about red having to many borders??? i dont think ill link them until im sure
samuelanonymous wrote:11) better fonts for the bonus please

whats wrong? i mean what could be better?

thank you everybody for your feedback it improves the map :D

i'm sorry, i hope my edited post has made it clearer. i changed it to this
samuelanonymous wrote:1) change the colours back or lighter than previously, but not this light

perhaps you could use a picture of real life waves for the sea? and also a lighter colour.

i dun understand this

for the red continent, I was thinking that maybe you can keep the links with the other continents, but minimize the number of links to each continent. that way, you can still keep the bonus. and i think pulau punggol should be connected to Ubin to replace the link from Ang Mo Kio to the green continent. Ang Mo Kio is connected to the yellow and red continents as well, but pulau punggol is not connected to anything. makes it more balanced

regarding the font, it's not just the bonus. I think the other words can be bolded and the position adjusted too. for the bonus section, can you put a slight outline (stroke), outer glow or drop shadow. It makes them stand out more.

hope i made my comments clearer :D

Suggestions for consideration

Postby cairnswk on Sat Jun 02, 2007 1:58 pm

Hi Haola...this is looking very good and has come a long way.

I would like to comment on a couple of points if I may:

1. There are a couple of names that are a little unclear as to what is what from my viewpoint - at the top there is Pulau Punggol Barat and Pulau Punggol Timor. It is possible to move the Malaysia over to the right and move those two names apart and up a bit and maybe use an indication line to one of them so that area is not a cramped

2. At the bottom, Pulau Semakau...is that sitting over the top of an attack line. If so, can it be moved to the right and use an indication line for this also.
The other option you might like to consider is to extend the size of your map down by 20 or 30 pixels so that name can sit under the island rather than over the top of the attack line.

3. On some of the islands, you have the army shadow sitting right over the top of the islands. Can you move these off to one side so that the island is clear and able to be distinguished with the army shadow touching the islands at the edge in a clear position to show which island the arny shadow belongs to.

There is nothing to say that all your army shadows have to sit in the middle of the territory. So move them around a little if it means there is more space for other names and some areas might then be not so cluttered...you know play with it a little and give everything some space.

4. The legend looks good, but is very small...perhaps that extra 20-30 pixels you add to the bottom of the map might give a little more room to increasing the size of the fonts in the legend including the bonus numbers.

Hope this helps.... and it is looking good. :)

Singapore map
Countries based on constituencies
Continents based on districts

Here's the next update

4/6 update

Image

36 countries
Perfect!

What's new:
*added "western water catchment"
*removed "macpherson" too small
*moved names around, notably pulau punggol barat (in north-east) and pandan and southern islands
*moved airports legend
*changed bonus for blue, green and orange (debatable) continent
*resized and moved bonus area around

Issues:
*are the colours ok?
*shall hougang in north-east have anything special?
*are the airports and the bonus ok?
*is the bonus for orange too much? (it has an airport)

Please give feedback. It would be much appreciated.

*are the colours ok?

I peraonally think teh color are excellent. There consistance but all diffirent.

*shall hougang in north-east have anything special?

No. its to small to fit anything into, u dont really have the space. I peronally thnig gameplay wise its looking good.

*are the airports and the bonus ok?

Airports should have the bonuses bumped up to 3.

north should be brought down to 2 since u only have 1 terriroty to defend.

north east needs to be moved up to 3, maby even 4. it has 4 territories, 3 of these have to be defended to gain the bonus.

*is the bonus for orange too much? (it has an airport)

^^see above

The rest of my concenes are graphical not gameplay wise.

1.the borders arent consistant and if u look close enuff there some of the sea texture between some boarders and the land color.

2.The highlight on the "N" on the compass is cut off at the top.

3. Im not a fan of the sea texture.

Keep up teh good work  [/quote]

umm north has 2 territories to defend, of which one is an airport.

ill change the bonus for north east

gouache light on watercolor is my favourite i think maby the color a bit strong and deep comapred with the rest of the map. is it possible to soften it down and maby change it to a less vibrant shade of blue?

sorry if im being an arse
