If you do this you should add all the little fruit items and then do a fruit basket bonus for having portions of, or all of it.

WM...i like the idea myself, and i think it would fill a niche market play out there.

I voted for non-symmetrical.

Also, if you go ahead, are you planning on continuing with the hard edged style, or will you use some anti-aliasing to reduce that hard edge?
I think it could do with less harshness, and as mentioned, the colours are very bold....i agree thay need toning down a fraction.

Good start though. :)

I am glad you like the idea. I voted non-symmetrical as well. I am going to continue with the hard edge. I spent around 4 hours drawing with a 1x1 pixel pencil in photoshop so I could keep the hard edge on all the pieces of the map. It is the way the video game looked int eh 80's. So it is the style I want to see.

As far as the colors being bold, I am going to look into toning down the white army circles and (I believe) once the different colored pellets (currently all red) are changed to different bonus colors (cyan, pink, orange, blue , magenta, yellow, gray, green, etc) the map will feel better.

But we shall see.

WM

Thanks WM.

What's wrong with that many territories?

Well... There is currently a demand for a few more higher count territories. Although I made that observation 3 months ago so who knows what people feel now.

More territories that fit in the size requirements would make people happy (If their name isn't DiM or qwert  )

OK here is Revision #2

Edits:

-Changed the territories to pellets like th actual game. I like it much more.
-Each pellet will have a letter, the name of the territory will be BLUE A or RED G.
-Added the fruit
-Added attack instructions
-Added Bonus values (prelim) for each color group
-Added "Double your bonus by holding all the pellets and diamond of the same color"

Need to do
-Get a better idea of the number of territories per color and the placement (that is where all of you come in.) :D:D:D

Oh and this is a 1980's arcade game. It is supposed to be pixelly.

I don't think it should be symmetrical for the reason of we have cross-word it was symmetrical and it wasn't the greatest hit so I think that this map has great potential if you change to non-symmetrical.

It is non-symmetrical
This map has a symmetrical layout but not symmetrical gameplay. I.E. Attacking and borders are different all over the board.

Chinese Checkers is symmetrical. Every bonus area was the same.

You still have to clean it up a bit (like some overlapping colours), but other than that, I think it's great. Maybe, though, you could add a few more fruit, and make it so that every bonus is different.

I think it's looking very good. 2nd revision is much better than the 1st. Why don't you put some more fruit in?

I like the idea that they can attack each other. It makes the map more challenging and a bit smaller.

I agree, it is less like actual pac man but so is risk in general. I chose to have them attack to allow the board to flow better.

WM....I have big apologies to make.....on page two where you replied to myself, Coleman and the Good Rev....i accidentally hit the wrong button "edit" instead of "quote" and have gone in and replied Thanks to my post but also deleted your reply to the other posts, hit the Preview button, it looked OK and it still didn't dawn on me what i was doing.
But it seems i have deleted your reply to those issues and it's too late to get them back. My BIG BAD.
I'll be more careful next time...but this was bound to happen sooner or later....still no excuse!

If you are planning on adding just one fruit, we should make it a cupcake instead.

1) It fits the CC theme better.
2) Using fruit may cross us back into the other side of the fair use line. Aliens instead of Ghosts was a good move, fruit -> cupcake would be a good one as well.

I agree. The fruit can go. But I really want some Bonus suggestions for the groups and placement of borders. Regardless of what the spaces look like,

HOW MANY PELLETS PER COLOR AND WHERE DO THEY GO.

Suggestions on those only please (for right now)

But then it is almost symmetrical and the colored diamonds are right by their pellets. Based on the poll the community wants non symmetrical gameplay. I don't feel this does that.

Plus with only having 5 colorers it would be really hard to hold all of the pellets (see 2nd picture page 2)
