I feel like this update was one step forward, two steps back.

- The "cleaning up" of the legend does not work. Now it looks overly compressed and in total very disorganized. Revert and rethink as necessary.
- The new tanks and planes...no. Start back with the tanks of last version, and update them to be slightly more WWII-ish. The planes before were awesome, no point changing them.
- Tadeusz Kurtrzeba's Polish circle is off-center of the guy's name, unlike every single other commander on the map. I know you're not trying to obscure the neutral value, but those faint colors won't mess up any army counts placed on the territory, promise. Centering it would look nicer and more uniform.
- Germany is fine tilted sideways, but Lithuania...any chance of righting it?
- The far edge of the top flowers looks completely out of place. Removing those extra "sprigs" at the edges won't change the overall effect and make it look cleaner.

Keep it up, and your map will be repeatedly

Against the theme? What do you mean? ... way against the theme.... How did they invade Poland ? .. With their walking canes and wheelchairs. I thought valid input was nescessary to be a foundry assistant. Who cares what you don`t like.. The tanks and planes definitly add balance to this map. It also adds much more strategic possibilities..         way against the theme :?: .

Well for starters cant expect a straight answer from an assistant only a smart one.. First the images are true and correct for the time period they represent.. Also they are nice and neat in a box and not cluttered like the OLD ONES...
SO THEY ARE INFACT NOT AGAINST THE THEME

Can i enquire as to why these new planes and tanks don't work when cairnswk's Stalingrad map has similar symbols to represent his tanks, artillery bombers etc.???

What isn't straight? I stated i didn't like them, and said why.

No, actually they don't fit the theme. Overall the map is a grungy, tough-looking map with faded and noisy (in the Photoshop sense) icons, background, etc. The new tanks and planes are metallic, shiny, and polished ā€” against what the rest of the map is like. They aren't realistic (against the textured feel of the map), stand out too much (the rest is faded, all very integrated, etc.), and don't look WWII-esque in terms of graphics. So no, they don't fit the theme.

FYI sam, the northeast Stanislaw Maczek border is a bit faded/weird.

Well the polished look, the tanks and planes being in a box actually help them stand out and make the map easier to read.. I also have to say the tank is especially very close to german and soviet tanks of wwii , try looking at a few pictures and you will see. The planes also have a nice look to them. In your case IGNORANCE IS BLISS .. They made you an assistant   I really cannot beleive they allow you to comment on maps.. You have no knowledge at all about ww ii And what a tank may look like... you think just because you an assistant that whatever you say goes and in this case you are absolutely wrong.. You will never admit to it.. you will just try to come up with another clever response to cover up your stupidity..

I think part of it is that we've all gotten used to seeing the actual tanks and planes, part of it is that stalingrad looks to have about twice (or more) times as many terits as this... besides, every map is different... and this one looks to be a blast. Very well done indeed, sam!

I still don't like the look of the legend, but once that's evened out and left without dead space (you've got plenty, re-arrange some things, increase/decrease some others' text size, etc.), I'm ready to stamp this one away.

Hey great update
I really don't like the new tanks and planes, they just don't fit in with the whole style of the map
could you make the gold bit around the legend more golden
overall it's amazing though

The cleaned up and organized legend does wonders. :) The text is marginally difficult to read (mostly because of dark on a darker red), but otherwise great improvement.

What can the P.A.F. assault outside of Poland? It appears the Commanders word that's rather key to map understanding disappeared. I'm sure you can fix that little nitpick with no difficulty whatsoever, so I consider this map Stamped for Graphics.

Yes sam, I am psychic
Now, what I was talking about with the blotches:

The first one has this weird blotch where the barbed wire is, while the second one is great. Touch that up?

This map = sweetness.

You use both "Attack" and "Assault" in your legend (though Assault is the official CC Terminology), but you seem to be using "Assault" to make the distinction between the "aggressive option" that has the ability of a greater range versus the aggressive option that is standard play--yes?

The dashes for the explanation of plane and tank bonuses can be potentially confusing, as they read "- +", making it seem at first like a non-bonus. You don't need the dashes, so might as well get rid of them. :D

Hey Sam,

wow nice map! =D>

Only few things:

  • It's personal, but i don't like very much the mapmakers name/year font you used...
  • The dashes in the text about bonuses are unnecessary ( - +1 for two, - +1 for one and - + 4 for three),they are clear without you do a sort of list ;)
  • Two commander symbols on the legend are cutted (Soviet Union and Poland)
  • Finally why not only "impassable" instead of "impassable Barrier"?
