Need Suggestions / Names please....

I'm trying to divide the stand up....and there are 5 major cricket regions in the world.
So far i've got....

Barmy Army - the Brits
Ozzie Ockers - the Australian and NZers
Calypso Kings - the West Indies

but need names for:

- the Indian/subcontinent that includes Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh -> Swami Prophets?
- the South African/Rhodesian fans - am really stumped here.

Help welcome, but nothing derogatory OK! ;)

I'm not a cricket expert but searching on wikipedia i discovered that South Africa National Team is known as The Proteas (formerly known as The Springboks).Could help you to find a name for fans?

Swami Prophets, i think it's good (it sounds like Swami Army, a real group of fans)

On the whole the map is well developed even though I think "your name" has helped with support ( ;) ) for a map based on one sport that is not popular in all countries of the world (no offense for who loves cricket). -This is my major concern about this map -
About gameplay i think that the map is more suitable for 1vs1 games, but it 's ok, because i think it could be played with all settings/types.
....the main foundry is around the corner.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something else to change?
Are you all happy with this map? 8-[

Personally, i can't understand why this isn't in the main Foundry now.
I think it is just as advanced as other maps that have just been moved there and has just as much support, even though it is a subject that is not known to the majority of people in N America...but then neither is the politics of the USA nor the Woodboro title known to many people outside of the USA.
I would hate to think that this site is becoming a popularity site for everything that has stamp USA or Northern Hemiphere on it. ;)

Swami prohpets is good. I have been searching the nether regins of my mind(and google) and cant come up with anything better than the proteas or 'boks. I also agree about the popularity thing........if you did a baseball map there wouldnt be a problem and I dont think there should be one here.

I am a kiwi Supporter and no way would we ever be in the same part of the crowd as the ozzies. Our support crew for our team are the Beige Brigade http://www.beigebrigade.co.nz/. I love the idea and would enjoy playing this map as an avid cricket supporter. I must admit that the instructions are a little confusing and it would take me a bit to try and work out who can attack who but I am very simple when it comes to maps and find most like this...

love the map - more interesting to me than US Senate for example - pity we cant limit it like a 20/20 game - now that would make it fun :D

Move it along boys. This map has surely come far enough to warrant the next phase. I may not be a cricket fan, and truth be known, I do not understand the game at all, but its different strokes for different folks ya know ?
Maybe one day, cairns will be so kind to take me on as a partner, and teach it to me. Either way, the Cricket fans deserve to get their map quenched. :D

This map would be perfect in the down under forum at the moment. Especially if New Zealand beat Pakistan and move into the final of the champions league trophy, it would be against the aussies :D

the map is interesting enough gameplay-wise to help it succeed even if the subject matter is a little eclectic. using the argument that there aren't enough cricket fans to justify moving it on is illogical. how many maltese play on CC, for instance?
had i been wise, i would have seen that her simplicity cost her a fortune

I think having all the shots going from the striker makes more sense imo

I don't. :)
I think that the shots should be distributed over both batsmen at the crease so there is not the biggest choke point for all those field shots and bonuses.
Heck, it's bad enough having them spread over just two.
Unless there are "many others".....

Lol we beat the Pakies, they were no problem, but the bloody ozzies are just to good.

I love the fact that us Beige Brigade get our own spot, you kick arse. Can I just ask that unless Maru is a good friend of yours can you change it to Manu as that is much more of a kiwi name. :)

I cannot wait to play this :)

In the meantime, discuss gameplay issues please.....

not sure if this has already been asked, but do the batsman + 4 and 6 bonuses only refer to the batsmen in the middle, ie 1 & 2?

You shouldn't need the fielder, just the batter and a four to score. You want to -not- control fielders if you're going offensive...

Is that a comment on yourself or the map. If it is the former then I dont particularly need to know that, if it is the latter why waste the time and space.

Thats a good point. If you own the batsman and the fielder, you wont be scoring any runs. It might even be worth a -1 if you hold batsman, fielder and four and +1 if you hold just the batsmen and the four. It might be difficult to impliment that considering the number of fours and fielders.
