I basically agree with you, but why these?:JOHNNYROCKET24 wrote:the following maps should be removed for New Recruits to join so players are not permitted to farm from them
Omaha Beach has bombardment.khazalid wrote:are you serious? what exactly is so complex about A.C.W / omaha / 2.1? there are about 8 maps too many in that list
NYC has the subway system - I could see that being pretty confusing for a newbie.the.killing.44 wrote:NYC? HRE? Castle Lands? ACW? Omaha? Eastern Hem? Sydney Metro? Siege? WWII Euro & W Front?
Seriously?
I would agree...seems like a very basic map, in my opinion.Tisha wrote:lackattack has Puget Sound on the can't play list, which I thought was a pretty basic map..
Yep.frankiebee wrote:Won't help a thing ?
Most farmers don't play New Recruits, they play low ranked players that don't understand how to play freestyle.
if you only disagree with 8, than you like my suggestion.khazalid wrote:are you serious? what exactly is so complex about A.C.W / omaha / 2.1? there are about 8 maps too many in that list
is this list public ?Tisha wrote:lackattack has Puget Sound on the can't play list, which I thought was a pretty basic map..
hmm.. wonder about dustbowl, with the decaying bonus areas.JOHNNYROCKET24 wrote:is this list public ?Tisha wrote:lackattack has Puget Sound on the can't play list, which I thought was a pretty basic map..

this is from December of last year, and I'm sure it haven't been updated. Dustbowl was allowed..RjBeals wrote:hmm.. wonder about dustbowl, with the decaying bonus areas.JOHNNYROCKET24 wrote:is this list public ?Tisha wrote:lackattack has Puget Sound on the can't play list, which I thought was a pretty basic map..

Europa | Egypt: Lower | Italy | Iberia | Luxembourg | Greater China | Australia | USA | Feudal War | British Isles | Portugal | Haiti | Charleston | France | Ireland | Germany | WWII Western Front | Imperium Romanum | WWII Eastern Front | North America | Great Lakes | San Francisco | Malta | Scotland | Classic Shapes | American Civil War | Siege! | Discworld | Philippines | Netherlands | Europe | Soviet Union | Indochina | Ancient Greece | Dust Bowl | Texan Wars | Middle East | Asia | U.S. Senate | Mongol Empire | Hong Kong | World 2.1 | Tamriel | BeNeLux | Montreal | NYC | Africa
Agreed...I would consider Dustbowl to be a non-newbie map.RjBeals wrote:hmm.. wonder about dustbowl, with the decaying bonus areas.JOHNNYROCKET24 wrote:is this list public ?Tisha wrote:lackattack has Puget Sound on the can't play list, which I thought was a pretty basic map..

There is certainly a lot of truth to that. I can see why some folks would be deterred by that.demonfork wrote: They leave because they come here expecting to play in realtime and when they find out, after they have filled up all of their available game slots, that they have no turns to immediately take and might not get a turn for in some cases several days, they decide that this site sucks and they leave.
It's a very good idea (have you suggested it?). I know of one site (non-Risk) that gives a 30-day trial run. It seems to work.demonfork wrote: If Lack gave a 3 day trial account that had all of the privileges of a premium account, to all new recruits, I guarantee that more players would not only stay but that they would end up buying premium when the 3 day trial ran out.

i think that is the best suggestion i have seen yet to date, DF i think you should create a seperate post just for this suggestion. it would bring in way more money for the turtle man and would bring a heck of a lot more people to the site, and better their chances of staying...demonfork wrote:The concept of restricting certain maps from new recruits is a joke in and of itself. I have recommended this site to several friends, not one has stayed. They all independently complained about the same thing, that they were unable to get any immediate playing time.

It's a good idea but I think that before it were to ever be implemented there would need to be a better fool proof system to detect multis, as this would prob. tempt a lot of current freemiums to make multis.jammyjames wrote:i think that is the best suggestion i have seen yet to date, DF i think you should create a seperate post just for this suggestion. it would bring in way more money for the turtle man and would bring a heck of a lot more people to the site, and better their chances of staying...demonfork wrote:The concept of restricting certain maps from new recruits is a joke in and of itself. Playing cooks and privates is better, because the odds of them deadbeating is SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER.KraphtOne wrote:a mock interview with johnnyrocket24
why don't you like people farming the new recruits johnny?
they don't know the map and it's too easy to get wins and points from them
you join thousands upon thousands of games with cooks and privates in order to get easy wins and points from people that aren't good at this game... how is that different?
because they have played long enough that they are fair game...
yes, but you are upset that people are attempting to gain points and wins from easy games, new recruits may be intelligent players or they may not be... the people you play are proven bad players... so how is what you're doing any better?
because CC hasnt said its against the rules yet...

Proposed by JR though, no.
JR, just because you got a Community Medal so you'd stop whining about not having enough, doesn't mean you should dictate.. ANYTHING.. ever.
