I know that the suggestion was just speed games, but I feel like what might be the best is a wait period of half of the turn time. If it's a 4 minute game, then you get 2 minutes to get in there. If it's a 24 hour game, you have 12 hours. With it being freestyle and all, I'm not sure a 24 hour wait period is necessary. Something shorter would suffice, IMO.
Thats a good idea for freestyle speed. All of the players would already be on and be notified when the game started.
But the casual game is different. I put the 24 hour time in there so that the 1st team has the opportunity to know that they are on timer. Yes it is freestyle, but not speed freestyle so that they would know the game was joined that quickly.
I am cool with other timing options, but this one seems fairest of the ones that I was considering. Honestly, its not that much of a wait, and if there were a blazing need for a quick start then perhaps the speed options would be a better choice for them. With only 12 hrs, the team joining last would still play a large role in controlling the start window.
So, for example in the 12 hr window, team 1 joins with a full team. It could be days later before another team joins. Lets say a coordinated team joins the game and then is able to set a 12 hr clock to their advantage.
In the 24 hour window, I am assured that I will know that the random clock countdown will shortly start and can be ready for it.
Either way is better than the current version though.
Thanks,
