Map-Builder Program

Postby The Imperator on Tue Mar 14, 2006 12:14 pm

The new Middle East map raises a curiousity: would it be possible to create a program allowing players to make custom maps? I understand it wouldn't happen anytime soon, but it would be an interesting addition to the site.

There is already info on how you can make a map in the map section of the forum. This is where the Middle East map came from.

I mean something a bit easier to use for those of us who aren't Conquer Club XML gurus. Like the map-editors in RTS's.

Because editing a pre-existing xml file is really that hard...

It really isn't that hard, just time consuming and (as mine has shown!) not easy to catch your mistakes if you're not careful. But is just text in the end.

What I would do is.. write down all the country names... and # them..

then instead of typing those complicated names over and over.. just put in say.. #1 or something.

When you are finished do a find/replace w/ the regular names.
