Platinum Medal (again)

Postby chipv on Mon Oct 20, 2008 1:44 am

Create a Platinum Medal hard to attain

Specifics:
Crossmaps Platinum: All maps available possibly including BETA possibly with 10 defeats.
Standard, Doubles, Triples, Quadruples, Terminator, Assassin, Speed 1000 unique defeats.
Ratings 1500 or 2000
Possibly one for collecting contributions medals say 50.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Give gold medal holders something to shoot for.
This one is dead easy to implement.

Ok, I know this has been suggested before:

cic, feel free to merge.

i think that if every just seuggests new things in every thread that suggest something, nothing will ever happen lol. Platinum medals is a great idea and should be brought about. If we don't support it and just contradict ourselves we will never get new medals

Platinum Medals

Postby neanderpaul14 on Sun Mar 15, 2009 1:40 pm

I believe we should bring medals up to the next level and begin having platinum medals for very high achievements

I suggested platinum and diamond about 6 months ago

hopefully they look into it and I was suggesting diamond be the big one, the gold would drop 100 and add platinum and diamond to look something like this.

bronze 20
silver 100
gold 300
platinum 500
diamond 1000

no, that's way too low for platinum, I think it should something like this:
bronze-20
silver-100
gold-400(currently)
platinum-800
diamond-1500

Platinum medal

Postby ahote on Thu Mar 26, 2009 8:02 pm

Provide an extra medal for crossmap achievement at 80 maps per 5 unique defeats.

Specifics
Now that I've got my gold, I'm not that tempted to try new maps - a little, but not as much as I was.

Provide an extra medal for crossmap achievement at 80 maps per 5 unique defeats.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
It will obviously encourage more people to diversify in their map selection even after reaching gold, which I find is set low at 60.

The medal could be dark grey or a shinier silver to represent platinum....

    Just an idea

totally agree with that, and maybe add platinum for all the other achievements, not only cross map !! and maybe another medal ( higher than platinum ? )

I completely agree!

Also, since there are 121 maps on the site, and more on the way (we're likely to have 150 by year's end) increasing the requirements for Crossmaps seems like a logical thing to do.. i.e: 20 for Bronze, 50 for Silver, 100 for Gold. (200 for Platinum, if it comes to that)

I just posted the idea for platinum medals a week or 2 ago.

I totally agree we definitely need a next level in medals to shoot for.
I believe 100 would be too high for cross map gold though perhaps 70 for gold and 100/110 for platinum.

I also believe this idea should be expanded that all medals should have platinums as well
