- If win, you get decide the whole order for everyone, so you can position yourself behind the player you think is weak, and two strong players together if you like.
- Bidding is done in secret, only to be revealed after everyone has submitted their bid.
- When you get troops your turn, you may choose to turn them into bidding chips instead for bidding for following rounds.
- Bonus troops from holding an area maybe be used to bid for the round they would be received in if this idea is being used (since it is set)
- Troops from Spoils may be cashed in at this stage to add to your bid.
- The spoils troops that may be placed anywhere are used up before the troops that are gained from holding the domain that matches the spoils type.
- Any spoils troop not used for this remain in limbo till your turn comes up.
- In event of tie: Either another further bid off is allowed between the tied players. Or the RNG decides between them.
- The restrictions for playing last/first could be lifted. Since you can only do that if you win the bid twice.
Alternatives:
Perhaps instead of bidding troops, you could just a set number of bid chips each turn, Or bid chips equal to your troop number. There is a number of ways it could be done.
Benefit to the game:
Gambling is fun right? It is sort of like a bet. Adds strategy too, are the troops or the turn order more important to you? How important do you think your opponents think it is? It would also solve the issue of people using the timing of which they join to try to change their odds of winning.
My apologies to those who voted in the poll when this was combined with another idea of mine in a single thread.
