"Have you heard..." "Want an rt game?" "Hey everyone (:" "I have a question, can anyone answer it for me?" As members around the globe click through the forums, Live Chat members switch between tabs with the recent installation of the Help Tab. For many of you, Live Chat may have never crossed your minds, or you may have thought, "Eh, I'll give it a try later", and simply discarded the idea later. Why is this though? Live Chat has many things to offer, but most of you probably don't know what there is, so I'm going to give a quick lineup of resources available to the everyday member.Talking to Others In Real Time How many times have you, during a team speed or rt game, had a communication failure due to the game chat not refreshing quick enough? I have experienced this myself, but let me show you how Live Chat can solve this problem. Firstly, all conversations in live chat are real time, thus the 'Live'. This means that all talking that goes on is instantaneous - no lag unless the server is down. For all intents and purposes, Live Chat is basically the big Instant Messaging resource for ConquerClub. Many of us, and for good reason, don't want to add other players to our personal IM list, be it AOL, Live, Yahoo, etc, because of personal information. That's great! Instead of having to compromise between either better communication or a share of personal info, Live Chat allows us to have our cake, and eat it too. Games in the Blink of an Eye (Freemiums will love this!) Free members, are you tired of getting to 4 spots and having to wait hours, days, or potentially weeks for a spot to fill, but don't have a way to easily obtain premium membership? Don't want to wait for a reply in the potentially slow-moving Callouts forum? Well, if you're unfamiliar with Live Chat, then I have some good news for you -The Callout tab. When you come in wanting a quick game, you may very well get one. Players can organize games in here, and upon prior agreement, the players can decide to make the game real time - that is, the game doesn't stop until it's over. Leave an empty slot open then come in and test it! Help! The most recent feature on Live Chat is the Help tab. Anyone can come in here with a question about the game, CC in general, add-ons, what have you, and there will usually be someone there (like myself) to help get the problem resolved or to point you in the right direction. Chit-Chat, and Other Misc. Want to talk about something interesting? Want to joke around? The Social tab has what you're looking for. Social can be described as a grouping of the current off-topic forum, "Serious Interwebz Business ", and good old "General Discussion ". If you come in looking for conversation, you may very well find it. Moderators Yes, just like how the forums have to be kept tidy and friendly, so does chat. These purple titled talkers and volunteers, known as Chatters , are usually on staff over a range of time zones, to try and secure maximum coverage possible. Currently, the Chatters are: If you are ever in live chat and need help, feel free to PM them either in chat (find out how, and other chat tricks here ), or via Inbox PM. Questions? (For any questions not listed here, visit Live Chat for an answer or PM me and I will do my best to assist you)"Is Live Chat always open?" -Yes, unless down for repair or construction, Live Chat is available around the clock. "No one was in Chat when I needed help, why?" -Unfortunately, 24/7 coverage is somewhat hard to do, but trust me that we're working on it! Feel free to shoot any of us a PM with what you need. "I don't agree with a moderator ruling, so who do I talk to?" -If you feel you have been mistreated or unfairly treated by a Chat moderator, plese PM jakewilliams , our head Chatter , to have it resolved. If your issue is with jakewilliams directly, please file an e-ticket. "Is there a comprehensive list of chat commands?" "Are the rules for Live Chat the same as the forums? From the Pit... by elfish_lad show
Now, The Elf has seen a lot of crazy things over the last 14 months here at CC. Crazy things. Here are just a few: - I've seen people rise from the dead . They are down to three regions in a no spoils game. They have a grand total of seven troops left. And on the third day they did rise. They can't loose a roll on defense or offense for the rest of the game. Crazy. But I've seen it. - I've seen a player walk on water . The game begins, the player steps out of the boat with first turn, they take a bonus, reduce you to under 12 regions, fort their five stack on your door step, wave to you as they walk by and the game is over by round three. You wonder why you didn't just forgo the start of the game and just give them your points. Nutty. - I've seen players who are possessed by a Legion of Devils : Foaming at the mouth in game chat or in the fora. Spontaneously combusting for no decipherable reason. Head-spinning, barf-spewing demonic possession at its finest. Or maybe they were just stoned. Nonetheless? Crazy. But this takes the Christmas nut-cake... check it out if you will (only the names have changed to protect the crazyperson):One Flew Over the Canucklehead crazyperson : sighcrazyperson : i garantee u r canadian or americancrazyperson : best drop ive ever ever seencrazyperson : miracle dice in attackcrazyperson : 2 double 6s 1st throw in defencesaneopponent : canadian but its also the best drop ive ever hadcrazyperson : every computer on earth, working in unison do not have enough proccessing power to work out those miracle oddssaneopponent : sorry bout your dice they must be the ones I had earlier tonightcrazyperson : it is so obviously rigged i am actually amusedcrazyperson : OMGcrazyperson : OMFGcrazyperson : not even funny now matecrazyperson : ggcrazyperson : c yasaneopponent : wish it coulda been closer but for the dicesaneopponent : gg and sorry againcrazyperson : wasnt just the dicecrazyperson : and no need 2 apologisei have yet to have a fair game against any american or canadiancrazyperson : hence the well known phrase, The american dicecrazyperson : every1 knows on a 1v1 if an american or canadian joinscrazyperson : uve lostcrazyperson : just the rigged site matecrazyperson : no worriescrazyperson : owner is canadian, 90 per cent of premiums are americanscrazyperson : must keep the biggest demographic happycrazyperson : just good business tbhsaneopponent : that I did not know... And, crazyperson , if you are reading this, and realize that I'm talking about you, send me a PM. I'll fire off to you some crazy talk of my own. Like the game where this complete stranger and I were so wasted we thought we had come up with a sure-fired way to win every roll. Cause it was all about the timing... and how you clicked the attack button... and petting a unicorn... and not offending the garden-gnomes. But that's another story for another night. See you in The Pit, you crazy nut jobs! E.
Interrogation of Lindax by rdsrds2120 Q: How/when did you find CC? Was your first impression a good or bad one? show: Answer
I Googled “online risk”. My first impression was good, I joined immediately.
Q: Have you recruited any friends or family to CC? If yes, who. If no, have you tried? show: Answer
Yes, I have recruited my wife and a whole bunch of friends.
Q: How Much (by percentage) Do You think rohan's armies lost morale when aragorn, legolas and gimli went to rouse the armies of the dead in return of the king? show: Answer
Ough…. a lot, 90%? But as King Theoden said: “We’ll meet them in battle nonetheless.”
Q: Where does your name come from? If you could have another CC name, what would it be? show: Answer
My wife and I have usernames chosen from the names of our dogs. Linda was taken, so I simply added an “X”, which was accepted. If I could do it again my username would be “Anduril”.
Q: Have you ever gotten in trouble on conquer club? If yes, how long ago and what for? show: Answer
I’m in trouble practically every game I play. If you mean with the powers of CC, no I have never been in trouble except for a warning that my signature was too big once. That must have been shortly after I joined, when I protested against Middle Earth being discontinued as a map.
Q: Do you ever see a tournament get posted and think "wow, that's a great tourney" or do you feel like you've seen everything? show: Answer
I definitely don’t feel that I have seen everything. I often think “wow, that’s a great tourney” or take note of certain tournament ideas.
Q: Do you think Night Strike was overly harsh when he said JoshyBoy would never become Tournament Director? show: Answer
Not really. Doesn’t mean that I would have said the same though. Never is a very long time.
Q: Excluding yourself, who in your opinion is the best feudal player? What are your 5 favorite maps? If you weren't a monki, what animal would you be? show: Answer
Best Feudal player: Daviedoo, he taught me. 5 Favorite Maps: That’s difficult…. I like basic maps and my favorite maps are not favorite because of game play. I’ll give you 5, but I could easily give you 50. Most favorite map ever: Middle Earth. With that map gone my 5 are: Midgard, Netherlands, Iberia, Italy, Puget Sound. May I also state that you’ll probably get a different answer every time you ask me! Ok, it’s now another day, my answer today would be: Midgard, Feudal War, Imperium Romanum, New World, Valley of the Kings. If I weren’t a monki: Assuming you’re talking clans, I still have a place in my heart for ++The Legion++ (of which I was a member once). Other clans I like are: Fraternal Order of Exceptional Drinkers, The Odd Fellows Union, The Brethren of the Fat Mermaid. For the record: I’m answering a question, not looking for another clan.
Q: How does it feel being a Tournament Director? What was the most frustrating/funny thing/event/situation you've encountered/had to deal with as a Tournament Director? show: Answer
Being a TD feels like having a chance to make the tournament experiences better for everybody and I can only hope I contribute to that. As for the worst experience: I won’t go into details, but it’s TOs breaking their own rules and refusing to correct the situation. It means having to use my “powers” and I don’t like being in that position. Most impressive: The way other TOs jump to the rescue if tournaments need rescuing.
Q: Why do you abbreviate your name "Lx"? Why not just have your username as Lx? show: Answer
First of all, I can’t change my username, or I would. When I started playing people would call me Dax or Lx, I liked Lx the most so started using that myself, thus getting rid of Dax.
Q: Can you tell us something unique about yourself that separates you from the other TD's? show: Answer
I’m intelligent. I have a sense of humor. I take my position as a TD serious. I’m a handsome devil. I can play RISK. I speak 5 languages fluently. I live in paradise. I’m responsible. I’m honest.
Q: Any stories of tournaments that have had to have been cancelled due to forum violations? show: Answer
Since I’m a TD there have been 1 or 2. However, I don’t think I should “share those stories”.
Q: In a 6 player singles game, who would be the 5 players you would invite(any reason why?) for your dream game and what map / settings would you choose? show: Answer
I wouldn’t call it my dream game, but with 6 players that would have to be on the original Classic map and standard, escalating, chained and real time (played as speed). From memory there used to be 2 groups I have fond memories of and I’d invite one of those groups of players precisely because of the fond memories. We really used to have fun playing. I’m going to name names, because I don’t want to forget anybody.
Q:What is your favorite way to own/get owned in a CC game? show: Answer
In the rare instances that happens, I prefer it to be because of somebody playing better than I.
Q: Would you rather prevent a problem, or help fix it? Any CC or Real Life examples that you wouldn't mind sharing as examples? show: Answer
Prevent it, without doubt. Real life examples: I’m a Scuba Diving Instructor, I think that says it all.
Q: What is your occupation or specialty in real life? How/when did you become interested in it, and are you passionate about it? show: Answer
My wife and I own a Dive Center. I got into scuba diving as a professional in the Dominican Republic, about 20 years ago. Am I passionate about it? Are you kidding? I earn money doing something others pay a fortune for!
Q: So, what's your favorite catch-phrase? show: Answer
Everything is relative.
Thanks for answering!

As of team of seven you will face many game types, Quads, Triples, Doubles, and Singles, and every team in the round robin 7 up tournament.Military Conference: A TPA Progress Report provided by jrh_cardinal As most tournament regulars know by now, barterer2002 started the Tournament Players Association (TPA) in May of this year. Every Monday, an established Tournament Organizer, chosen by barterer2002 , starts a new TPA Tournament. Each players results are then calculated using a system of point values, then added to that players overall score on the TPA Scoreboard. The 3 players with the highest overall scores at the end of the year are given General Achievement Medals. The TPA has been going on for almost 6 months now, so it's about time to gauge people's feelings and reactions so far. When asked From your point of view, how well is the TPA going thus far? , there was a unanimous response, it's going great! In the words of Drew483 , "I know when I join a TPA tournament it is going to be a great tourney filled with players who are serious about their tournament play." Timminz and Serbia each summed up their views on the TPA's success in one word, it is going "swimmingly!" The creator of the TPA, barterer2002 , responded "I think the organizers involved have done tremendous work and I'd like to thank them all for the successes we've had to date."

"Join This? Or Not!" is completely unprofessional, biased and subjective view on Create/Join a Tournament forums and what can be found in there. My wish is to highlight the star tournaments that are recruiting for players, but on my bad day I might just hammer down a tournament just for the kicks of it. Lets begin with triples tournaments. There's a triples in Arms Race! by MajotTom 555 but honestly, if you have any self respect then you won't join the tournament. A lot decent tournaments are La Classique à Nic: Classic, triple by Qzerjuk and Assorted Triples 7: Midgard, World 2.1, Supermax - Assorted Triples 6: Montreal, USA GL, Pro Chicago by Commander62890 . Shining star of triples tournaments today is PepeAtila 's TRIPLE Liga III . If you are not much of a team player then check out the following assassin tournament: Live and let Die by tokle , Medal Hunters: Assassin by dr.lucas and Blockhead's Speed Assassin Tourney . If you are into freaky stuff like Foggy or Manual then here are some suggestions to you. Rodion's Flexible Cup #2 - Arms Race! and MrGlassB 's Heads-Up Championship: Remix offer you sneaky fog games. For minions of manual there's Zooming In Tournament #3 by xakel , UEFA EURO 2012 PREPLAY by zamboozal and bprice174 's Honey Waffles Tournament . Time to throw in some mixed and standard tournaments. There's deathcomesrippin 's The March to War and offinthecorner 's Drug Wars . NotNowKato is trying his luck with 2 tournaments Dungeon Bash ! and Complete Madness ! . By the way, there should be no space in front of exclamation mark! Today I'm finishing with 3 very different sports tournaments. There is CC Darts Tournament by paulgamelb and 313's World Basketball Championships 2010 - 313's Deep Sea Fishing Tourney by merch313 . All you lazy less-lifers, go now and join a tournament. Or two. Or three. Or four!

Map Spotlight: Baltic Crusades show
Map Spotlight: Baltic Crusades Castles, impassible forests, pagan villages, and Christian Armies. If these things float you're boat you'll love The Bastards map The Baltic Crusades. It imagines the mid-evil conflict between the pagan tribes of the Baltic's and the Christian invaders, with stunning detail. Far from an ordinary bonus oriented map, this map takes full advantage of collective bonuses, towns that auto-deploy +1, Castles that auto-deploy +3, and a feature that allows you to pair towns of similar affiliation to collect addition troops. The map is won when one objective is achieved. In this case you can either collect all the Teutonic strongholds, or Polish-Lithuanian strongholds along with Grunwald. The Bison King: First off tell us a little bit about yourself. I notice that you first posted the Baltic Crusades a few days after you joined the site. The Bastard: hm, I hate this "telling something about me", but ok. I´m nice, genial, strong, tolerant, without mistakes seriously, I like history, guns, some sorts of sport, I have girlfriend and 7 month young Jack Russell. if this is not enough just ask more about map, I like ideas here but when I´ve looked at maps there were a little historical maps. medieval era is my favourite. The Bison King: Did you join the site with the express purpose of making maps? The Bastard: no, only for fun and play. but very early I have some ideas (build map on auto-deploy, medieval era, show to people - mostly to non European - something from history). The Bison King: I know next to nothing about the Baltic Crusades, could you tell us a little bit about them? The Bastard: Lithuanians and some other Baltic nations were pagan original. when Christians lost their battle in Holy land Teutonic Knights were send to Europe (firstly to Transylvania), but in AD 1230 they enjoyed Crusade to Prussia. later they established monastic state here at the head with Grand Master. more to the north there was Livonian Order (origin as independent, but soon incorporated by Teutonic Order). Livonian Order fought also against powerfull Republic of Novgorod. in AD 1410 the Polish-Lithuanian forces defeated Teutonic Knights in great battle at Grunwald. this was start of end of the Order. The Bison King: How does your map relate to these wars? The Bastard: I´ve tried to do it so close as is possible with current XML.The Bison King: You've been working on this map for a long time are you happy with where it's gone since you began? The Bastard: yes, I´m happy that it is in Graphic forge, but it was long long time when it come here. too long for me , but I must say that at the start I knew very few about graphic and without help from Industrial Helix the map was not exist. The Bison King: Do you have any future plans for the foundry? The Bastard: yes. in Dead projects (I do not remember name of foundry) is Reconquista map. I have some other ideas (mostly from medieval era), but I will wait to next update of XML. I think now we have not much possibilities with XML (deploying units, lost units, create bonuses/penalties...)
Inside the Foundry History 101: Risk show
History 101: Risk With the 1st Annual Risk Classic just around the corner I thought it might be fun to take a look at the history of Risk. Those of you looking for the closest approximation of Risk on Conquer Club should try the wonderful new Classic map by sully800 . Risk is a strategic board game, produced by Parker Brothers (now a division of Hasbro). It was invented by French film director Albert Lamorisse and originally released in 1957, as La Conquête du Monde ("The Conquest of the World"), in France. Risk is a turn-based game for two to six players. The standard version is played on a board depicting a political map of the Earth, divided into forty-two territories, which are grouped into six continents. The primary object of the game is "world domination," or "to occupy every territory on the board and in so doing, eliminate all other players." Players control armies with which they attempt to capture territories from other players, with results determined by die rolls. Each Risk game comes with a number of differently-colored tokens denoting armies. In the first editions, the playing pieces were wooden cubes representing one army each and a few rounded triangular prisms representing ten armies each, but in later versions of the game these pieces were molded of plastic to reduce costs. In the 1980s, these were changed to pieces shaped into the Roman numerals I, III, V, and X. The 1993 edition introduced plastic Infantry tokens (representing a single unit), cavalry (representing five units), and artillery (representing ten units). The 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition contained the same troop pieces but made of metal rather than plastic. In the 2005 "bookcase" edition, playing pieces are once again wooden cubes. These token types are purely a convention for ease of representing a specific army size. If a player runs out of army pieces during the game, another color may be used to substitute, or another symbolic token to help keep track of armies. Standard equipment also include five (originally six) dice in two colors: two dice for the defender and three for the attacker. Also included is a total of seventy-two Risk cards. Forty-two of these depict territories, in addition to a symbol of an infantry, cavalry, or artillery piece. One of these cards is awarded to a player at the end of each turn, if the player has successfully conquered at least one territory during that turn. No more than one card may be awarded per turn. If a player collects either three cards with the same symbol, or one of each, these cards may be traded in for reinforcements at the beginning of a player's turn. These cards can also be used for game set-up (see below for details). Also included are two wild cards that depict an infantry, cavalry, and artillery piece, as opposed to one of the three and a territory. Because these cards have all three symbols, they can match with any two other cards to form a set. Twenty-eight Mission cards also come with the game to be used in the Secret Mission Risk rule variant. In the 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition the movement route between the territories of East Africa and Middle East was removed; this was later confirmed to be a manufacturing error, an error repeated in Risk II. Subsequent editions restored the missing route. While the European versions of Risk had included the variation "Secret Mission Risk" for some time, the U.S. version did not have this added until 1993. "Win the game and you win the world " Rule Variations Over the years, Parker Brothers and Hasbro have published many different editions of rules for the game.Two-player Risk: The rules for this 2-player game were developed by Michael Levin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and were included within the Official Rules published in 1975.Capital Risk: Each player has a "capital" in one of the initially-occupied territories. The player to capture all capitals wins. Capital Risk often leads to much shorter games.Secret Mission: The "Secret Mission Risk", which was the standard game in European editions for some decades until 2003, gives each player a specific mission short of complete world domination. “The War Room ” Official Licensed Risk Games In addition to the original version of 1959, and a 40th Anniversary Edition with metal pieces, a number of official variants of Risk have been released over the years. In recent years, Hasbro has predominantly based its Risk variants on popular films. The most recent example in this trend is the Transformers version, released in June 2007. In chronological order, the variations of Risk that have been released are: * Castle Risk (1986) * Risk: Édition Napoléon (1999) * Risk: 2210 A.D. (2001) * Risk: the Lord of the Rings (2002) * Risk: the Lord of the Rings: Gondor & Mordor Expansion Set (2003) * Risk: the Lord of the Rings: Trilogy Edition (2003) * Risk Godstorm (2004) * Risk: Star Wars: Clone Wars Edition (2005) * Risk Express (2006) * Risk: Star Wars Original Trilogy Edition (2006) * Risk Junior: Narnia (2006) * Risk: The Transformers Edition (2007) * Risk: Black OPS (2008) * Risk: Reinvention (2009) * Risk: Halo Wars Collector's Edition (2009) * Risk 1959 (2009) * Risk: Factions (2010) “Risk Halo Wars ” Computer and Video Games Several computer and video game versions of Risk have been released as The Computer Edition of Risk: The World Conquest Game, starting with the Commodore 64 edition in 1988 and the Macintosh edition in 1989. Since then, various other editions have been released for PC, Amiga, Sega Genesis, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Game Boy Advance. In 1996 Hasbro Interactive released a PC version of Risk that included a new variation on the game called "Ultimate Risk", which did not use dice but rather implemented the use of forts, generals, and complex battle strategies. Risk II for PC and Mac was released as a 2000 video game which includes classic Risk as well as board and gameplay variations. In 2010, Pogo.com added a licensed version of Risk to its library of online games. An Xbox Live Arcade version of Risk called Risk: Factions was released on June 23, 2010. It includes classic Risk as well as a factions mode where players can play as Zombies, Robots, Cats, Soldiers, or Yetis. =fin=
Sully's Old School for the Quenched show
Sully's Old School of the Quenched Sully's Old School for the Quenched includes all of the maps that have been officially quenched after a full beta test. Each issue of the Dispatch will now include an article on one of Old School's "students" with comments by fellow Conquer Clubbers and an analysis by yours truly. The goal of these articles is to get fellow CC-ers to play the forgotten or underrated maps, or maps that just fit the theme of the Foundry section of the Dispatch, by highlighting the positive aspects of the featured map. Enjoy!Old School Honor Roll: The Third Crusade Ah, the Kings' Crusade! This map honors the third of eight attempts by the European states to conquer the holy land of Jerusalem from the Muslims during the Middles Ages. Kabanellas incorporates countless unique features into this map including starting positions, many different ways to acquire a troop bonus, and an appropriate objective to top it all off.Breaking it down Old School: The objective is to hold any starting point, Jerusalem, Antioch, and the Vatican or Granada, making for interesting gameplay and creative strategies. Your starting position is key to keep hold of, and with six troops deployed there other than the usual three, it makes it a good, well, starting point for attacks. All of the starting positions allow for quick access to the Holy Land, whether through a nearby starting position or a one-way attack directly to the Holy Land. At the start of the game, you are presented with two options: a mad dash for the Holy Land, or go for a bonus area or two. Each has its benefits: the former may allow you to get a strong footing in the Holy Land early on, while the latter may allow you to gather up a hefty amount of troops before making a large-scale invasion. Now, with the requirement of Granada or the Vatican, both strategies have their issues. If you have a good footing in the Holy Land, you will still have to spend troops to make your way west. If you've got a continent or two, your invasion forces will have to be split in order to sweep all of the objective points, possibly causing your bonus areas to be left with little defense. There are other methods of getting troop bonuses, like with the symbol bonuses, but none of them seem entirely feasible to pursue at the start of the game, though they will prove to be of more worth as things progress and you have the troops to go after them. Though eliminating all players on the map is certainly another approach, it is only recommended for Terminator, Assassin, and Escalating Spoils games, as the goal of Terminator and Assassin are to eliminate players, and Escalating Spoils provides a hefty enough source of troops that the strategy is probable. Let's see what our fellow Conquer Clubmates had to say about the map:dartmydog : It's my most played. I love it!August Burns Red : I love the map. Really nothing i dislike.bernooch : Best map evar...well..one of them...its always a challenging map....Zhukov1968 : It's good, and the complexity gives it depth, but this, combined with very specific victory criteria makes it hard to win. As do playing good players like these. However, given the current situation in the middle east, and the anger that exists between muslims and christians, it is interesting to see that our two cultures have regularly crashed during history. So maybe a military solution is not the way forward. But I digress. The Third Crusade definitely has some serious strategy requirements sewn into its very fabric, and it is admired by all. Why don't you play a few games on The Third Crusade? -Mr. Sully
All over the world would-be Conquerors are tingling with excitement as the first games in the new clan league kick off. To celebrate we invite you to submit your entry to the clan fantasy league, brought to you by the newsletter with the support of the Clan directors, and with a premium prize and a general achievement medal to go to the winner.
We also have a guest writer... The Saxlad joins us to tell you the highs and lows you can expect if you ever decide to set up your own clan... something he has done just recently... and with some success as The Fourth Crusade currently hold a good lead in their first ever clan war against Knights of the Future.
It's a busy busy time for many clans fighting fierce wars but our apologies, we are short on news coverage this issue. A note for the Cup though: as the third tound of the semis begins, with excitements and insults flying, THOTA have held an advantage over LoW, leading 22-17, while TOFU attempt a fightback against KORT, bringing it back to the current score of 16-17.
COMPETITON: FANTASY LEAGUE show
Sign up for the Clan Fantasy League. Three months premium and a general achievement medal to the winner! It's simple. For each clan give the total number of games you think they will win. Tie-breaker: which individual player will win most games in the league? Entries should be sent by PM to laughingcavalier . Only one entry per player and no duplicate entries will be accepted. Remember we're not counting play-offs, it's just the regular season. So each clan will play 90 games - how many of those 90 games will they win? There will be 270 total games played in each division so your total number of wins in each division should add up to 270. Last year scores varied between 69% of games won (with a single exception at 81%) and 31%. If games followed the same pattern this year (and that's a big IF!) the top scoring teams would win about 62 games, and the bottom scoring about 28 games. The clans in each division are listed in the order they were seeded at the season's start. We'll show everybody's chosen scores after entries are complete, and run updates through the season to let you know how you're doing. Scoring will be calculated by how many points deviation there is from the final score to your prediction. Entries close Friday 22nd October. Thanks to the clan directors for their support in creating this competition. Do you know your clans? Can you look into your crystal ball and see what the season will bring? Sign up and prove it! See if you can win that premium and the glittery gold thing. Format for entries: List the teams in the order they are seeded in each division. (Don't change the order they are listed so we can copy and paste your entry). After each clan give the number of games you think they will win. Finally the tie-breaker: which player do you think will win the most games in the league? Here is an example entry - all you need to do is change the number of games for each clan and the winningest player. PM your entry to laughingcavalier . It should look like this - you can copy and paste and just change the numbers: Division 1 LOW 20 TOFU 20 ID 45 BSS 35 LEGION 80 TIME 70 Division 2 BPB 45 EMP 45 AOD 45 MYTH 45 DEVB 45 MM 45 Division 3 IA 60 NEM 60 AOC 30 FOED 30 SOW 60 DYN 30 Division 4 KORT 90 TSM 0 L4D 70 GEN1 20 TLW 50 GRIM 40 Winningest player: jpcloet
Starting a Clan... An Insider's View by The Saxlad (The Fourth Crusade) show
I’m angry. Genuinely angry. Why you may ask yourself? Because I’ve been turned down from a clan... again. It’s always, sorry your rank is too low, or sorry you’ve only played 700 games. Sometimes they send out the scouts and ignore me as ever. Every time I pick myself up again, surely somewhere there is a clan that wants me? Somewhere? Even ones where I would surely be accepted I backed out, wasn’t quite my type, or wasn’t quite people I thought I could get along with. Suffice to say I couldn’t find one clan which suited my needs. Then when I was about to give up a thought crossed my mind... Why not make one? Yes, we hear about all the hardships clan leaders such as Masli and jpcloet and even joshyboy go through ( I am not commenting on that...) anyways, how hard could it be to start up and run a clan I thought? Must be easy. Well let me tell you it really isn’t. First you have to think of a name, a good one and that takes time. I decided on THE 4TH CRUSADE . And as well as that it takes balls (or guts) fiendishly good recruitment and a group of players who can play together... ...which I didn’t have. Oh dear. So I’m there with my new recruitment thread inviting any CC member I could get my hands on to come and join my clan. I was hopeful, and it was rewarded within a matter of days. 2 or 3 days later, I forget which my first crusader turned up, with this message:I'd like to join. My rating may not be the best, but I left the site while I was premium once and deadbeated out so that's where the ratings come in.
Yes it was Colton24 , who had recently joined the site, he fitted all the criteria and the story seemed genuine...ah f*ck that, someone had actually given a damn about my clan of course I was going to let them in! After that and after a bit of Dai_atan being annoying, and being a bit of a grammar nazi... (Empire, I guess how you feel) I saw another thread in the callout for another new clan, which wasn’t getting any sign ups... so I took pity on the poor lad,(and erased the new clan competition ) and QoH joined the new crusade. 2 down 8 to go. My next two finds were probably my lucky stroke which made the clan. Within a day of each other two new players started knocking on my door. The first Blackknight_6 seemed like a decent enough lad... little did I know I had a shock coming. Within days three other players, winstonturqhill , grahamstanley and Tenbar had joined. An interchangeable quads, trips, dubs team. You name it, they play it. I had really hit the jackpot and it only got better with the next sign up! tokle was a great find, he jumped straight in on the bandwagon and almost straight away offered himself to the position of war officer which he has taken on with gusto, and has performed over and above his best. And of course how can I forget all the others that have contributed, dud , lauretta , argaroth and many others who I could mention. It was a worthwhile endeavor, I now have a clan of people who are all good people and ready to fight a war. And fight a war we did. At the moment we are against KotF, who are losing to us majorly, by 7-3 and we are looking to score at least 11 this first round, so all is well. I have to also pay my respects to all the clan leaders out there, it is a hard job starting a clan, especially when you don’t have a group of people who are already around you, but hopefully I proved to the CC world it is possible and in the future we will see many new clans who will fight to win all of CC’s greatest achievements. I’m back off to the Freestyle Section now, hopefully they won't notice me gone...
