Clan Department Changes

Postby JPlo64 on Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:12 pm

I have done a lot of thinking of recent about the future of clans and my role.

Because of her enthusiasm and passion for Clans, I made the recommendation to Administration for me to step aside from being Head Clan Director and allow groovysmurf to take over the Clan Department as Head CD.
Administration has agreed, so groovysmurf has been added to the CD Team and will be made Head Clan Director in the coming days.

I will stay on the team for a temporary basis to assist in transition as groovysmurf assembles her new team.

I wished to have done more to help clans by now and be a better Leader for the Clan Department.
There is a lot that one can still do without being a CD. After the old F400 was destroyed, Donelladan and I worked to recreate it, all while not being CD's.
I hope anyone that has an Idea for clans (or any part of CC) doesn't hesitate to speak up, start action and make the site better.
I intend to continue to do my best to help clans improve and flourish in the future, even if not in an official capacity.

Thanks,
JP

Congratulations groovy, you will bring a much needed breath of fresh air to the clan department and the clan scene as a whole. Things have been quiet for far too long.

Groovy will be great at this! Congratulations!

JP, you've done a great job as clan director. I know you've put a lot of hard work into it, and your post undersells how well you've done it. That work is very much appreciated.

The rest of y'all who haven't already had close dealings with groovy are going to really enjoy getting to deal with her more. She's awesome.

Thank you very much for the kind words. It is much appreciated. I promise to do the very best job I can in this role.

I'd like to address a question from the CL14 thread.
iAmCaffeine wrote:is it really an issue to have discussions like this? should we not ask questions when things out of the ordinary happen? is understanding not a good thing?

I believe that understanding and asking questions is hugely important. Open discussion and communication is 100% needed in order for those overseeing things to always do, not only what the community wants, but also what is best for it's growth and development. I am prepared and willing to be as transparent and open as possible in all clan matters. One thing that has bugged me about the clan department for years is that so many things seem hidden and not open to public scrutiny.

I believe that the job of the CDs isn't to lord over clans, but to direct and satisfy the clan community as best we can. We, as moderators, are supposed to work to make this site more enjoyable, but I feel like sometimes that is forgotten. I will not forget why I decided to volunteer and I welcome any and all discussion, ideas and objective criticisms.

This is great news for the clan world! Welcome and congrats to new CD Head groovysmurf, and thank you for your seemingly unending devotion to
making CC a better place to hang out! As with everything you touch, I know you will do a fantastic job in your new role!

Can't wait to hear all about the new CD team! Best of luck to everyone on it. I feel pretty damn confident that you will have the full support of your
many admirers on CC ;-) It's a happy day in the clan world! =D>

And, of course, thanks to JP and those who have come before him who have given so much of their time to CC! It is very much appreciated ♥
