Awesome!

Thanks, Masli.

Granted, I probably won't be happy in about 19 games, but for now it's all good.

Are you rating us as clear favourites against Empire? :o I'm flattered of that vote of confidence, but I don't really think we deserve to be rated above them (yet 8-) ).

Hard to believe they actually allowed two reps from group b, really I'm amazed they found that many subpar clans to put into one group

With our start in those games, I'd be very surprised if we even make it close. I haven't looked in too much depth in all the games, but the 5 I'm in we went 2nd in all of them and in a few of them we weren't able to even conquer a territory in the first round (we have had really good dice in one of them, however). It's not looking good for us. Do us a favor and make several mistakes to let us back in. ;)

Well. We have had the start in a fair amount of the games, but the first rolls and the location of the drop are equally decisive as who goes first imho. I have looked at all games, and I think it will be close. But it's very early and nothing final in just about all of them... It's very exciting though, both good experiences and the occational mishap that ends in a curse rant that clearly frightens my neighbour

I will put out a disclaimer before I say anything, I think AoC is doing a great job and deserves the win if/when they get it, just voicing a small amount of frustration towards no one in general but one reason that a 19 game set frustrates me to decide a winner.

First turns
Empire - 5
AoC - 14

Two of those games they got first turn in they dropped with bonuses that were either played immediately or well protected.

On top of that, in nearly every game I have played, when we got a turn after theirs, we have rolled 0-(whatever) and failed to get a card or single territory.

Like I said, AoC is a great clan and is just as deserving to win here as we are so I will tip my hat to them if/when they win. I am just frustrated with such a lopsided set of 19 games to decide.

yes, 19 games is too low for a playoff challenge, so your frustration is very understandable. that can be reason to make better playoff system in next CLA League, maybe league system playoff.

No reason to give wrong numbers: You've gotten first turn in 6 games, and you have also got dropped with bonus in one game. I don't want this to be a discussion about who got more lucky than the other clan, but there is most certainly not a one-sided lucky clan in this challenge: Especially the comment
"we have rolled 0-(whatever) and failed to get a card or single territory".
doesn't fit the description with my games at all.
Can we leave it at that please?

I can understand your frustration, but I'm a little disappointed that the 'starts' count was mentioned. :(

Firstly, because it undermines any victory we may end up with and would leave us looking total w*nkers, if we lose.

Secondly, I'm disappointed, because it had been my intention of making it clear to all viewing this thread, that our victory (if we get it) was due to a large slice of luck from the 'first turn fairy', but that would have been near the end.

If we were able to decline a few of these starts, in order to even the count, then we would.

For the record, I agree that the play offs should have been 40+ games.

yes, i think that starting stuff not need to be mentioned. luck related things never need to be publiced, it really left feeling like the team who was maybe little more lucky with first start doesnt deserve their wins by their playing. I still remember when my clan was called in public thread for our great luck from clan who had advantage 38-22 in first starts  , and it was not such a pleasure to read that.

The role of luck in 18 or (19) games is hard to avoid. I think maybe it would be more fun if we could do the playoffs for the Clan League as another league - 2 groups of 4 playing 3 more weeks, and then the winner of each group could play a final of 40(41) games. That would make the winner more worthy, and it would also differ more from the Conquerror's Cup. It would not take a lot more time either as the schedule for the weeks would be more effective than everyone have to finish their quarter final games before all semi finalists will be ready. And then more waiting before the finals can take place.

At least something to think about before the start of CL4 :)

That's a great suggestion Eyestone. Hopefully this can change in Cl4.

You fellas have been playing very well, by the way, and if you fellas don't make any mistakes to let us back into some of the lopsided games, then you definitely deserve the win! :)

It ain't over yet though, I have faith. =D>

Sorry to both of you. I don't intend to offend you all and I don't mean to tarnish any victory you all get. I would not typically voice anything at all, but I am only doing so in hopes of showing how lopsided it can be so that we can have a change for the better in the future. Sorry if I miscounted the number of starts from 5-6, obviously, that was not intentional. Either way, the sole purpose of the comment is for change, not to belittle your possible victory.

Just like to say that AOC has much respect for empire and think they are a very classy clan. They demonstrated that by when we played a challenge against them about a year ago and they beat us pretty good in the end. But more importantly after their victory, they not only appreciated our play but gave us several tips on how to improve as a clan. We took that feedback and it has served us well. Thanks and gl to all. ;)

Yup, our war vs Empire was also my the best war ever, with a lot of respect and fair play and classy play from both sides. if only more clans are like Empire, then challenges would be much more enoyable to play =D>

Listen guys, there is no ill feeling at our end, all is cool 8-)

Of course, you realise that now we will need to win 19-0, to show that it's our superior strategy and not the drop... we WERE going to go easy on you

Thanks for the kind words about Empire, I hope I didn't stir too many with my comments. Just to echo again, I have seen nothing but flawless play out of AoC and am very aware of their talent and any wins in the games they get and any ultimate win they get will be well deserved due to hardwork and great play.

Heck, I even mentioned to our guys that the home games they sent us were some of the best home games I have seen organized out by our opponents which goes to show the great leg work they put in.

My frustration is not in losing, I can handle a loss with the best of them I like to think and if we lose I will cheer AoC on the entire way, my frustration is just with a 19 game set. I do really like the idea of next time advancing the playoffs to two leagues of 4 clans, where the winner of each faces of against each other. This way we play each other 18 games only but in the end there are 54 games to decide the winner.

*EDIT* Heck, maybe even the top 2 from each side go face off in a final round robin league of 4 and all places for the league are decided by the records of those 4 teams in the end. Just a thought for the future.

A phased league was considered although the main complaint was that it would take too long and overlap with other events.

Having played (and lost to) AOC in a recent challenge and then again in the league, I can guarantee they are tough to play against, and also really sporting opponents. I'm not rooting for either side but both EMPIRE and AOC would be good semifinalists for the league.

Chuuuuck: Everything is cool ;) Seems like we agree on the most important matter. It was just a little unclear to me what your main message was.

Just for the record: I still think you are favourites to go through as winners. Empire plays way too flawless.
