World Cities Contest: Dubai [D]

Post by phantomzero »

Here's my Dubai Map. I wish I had a little more time and that I was at my desktop. I had some free time at the airport, downloaded GIMP and I came up with this.

The premise is a small map with the Burj Dubai Tower as the focus.

This is the most basic of graphics. I've never used GIMP before but didn't have Photoshop installed on my Netbook. Of coarse this is for gameplay only and I'm very open to suggestions regarding gameplay. Graphics will be much better in the next version.

Thanks!

Just back from my long trip. The first draft was a very rough start. I went with the most basic 16 starting territs with 2 territs that start neutral. It would be easy to split some of these territs into 2, and could nearly double the territ number if needed, but I was hoping for a basic simple map. The contest is closed so this is what I am stuck with. We'll see what happens.

I'm not opposed to small maps... sixteen territories affords two place in the highest amount of player possible. If fits within CC precedents... so I have no objection.

This is optional, but +3 might be a tad large for such a small map. Like we did for First Nations Americas and pushed it to +4, you could lower it down to +2. Your choice.

2 regions (the world and burj khalifa) start neutral, so each player receives only 1 region in an 8-player game. adding 2 more regions (possibly airport and corniche) to the map will give 2 per player in 8-player games.
