Merged from separate topic into the usual BOB maintenance topic, then quoted to put where the maintainers of BOB will see it:
steve066 wrote:BOB retains my numerical settings in map options i.e. opacity/ brightness
but does not apply them when i return to game. all maps seem to default to a neutral like appearance.

also, when using mouse wheel to select number of men to drop the entire map scrolls in addition to
drop amount

suggestions plz

If I'm not mistaken, both of these issues have been raised before.

For the record, I'm the only maintainer at the moment, I read that thead actually. And I think this was solved in 5.0.4.

Does BoB work in Google Chrome?

I have had a quick look around the forums but there is no conclusive answer.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Just try it. It works good enough, only the coloring/adding army amounts of the dropdowns doesn't always work, and it doesn't show when an update is available (and Chrome forces you to uninstall before you can update to a new version last time I checked). But the rest works afaik.

Hi - thanks for taking on enhancements/fixes. Bob is very useful. In World 2.1 Map, whether from Auto BOB from Home or by enable BOB within the game, the game does not load.
We get an hourglass spinning and the "Loading Log" message. It never completes. I am able to return to the home page. I also can play if BOB is not enabled.

Hmm, You do have 5.0.4? I just checked your games, they all load for me. So either you have an old version or it is only an error in combination with some setting within BOB.

I reloaded Mozilla 3.6.4 and still happens and I'm running 5.0.4 BOB. I'll check GeaseMonkey next.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the map inspector icons no longer add. It used to be that the indicators for "attacks" and "bombarded by" would add, resulting in a square box indicator. Now I only get the "bombarded by" indicator. Can you change it back to the old way?

I just installed firefox on my new laptop, and thats exactly the problem I'm facing!

Edit: As far as I can see, the basic problem is that bob doesn't update troop numbers/regions etc. Is it a problem with java or something?

I just updated my old version of BOB on firefox and installed bob in chrome. And I have the same exact problem as Leehar - It doesn't update the data anywhere unless I manually refresh the page.

I think I may have noticed a lag when BOB is updating the numbers, but it usually gets down eventually. What maps are you seeing this on specifically? (Please don't just say all maps, unless you play all of the scores of maps available. Specific maps put specific processing loads on BOB.)

I just updated to 5.0.4 and I've got some weird problems. First off, the territory names in the drop down menu aren't colored anymore and when I had 5 guys on a territory it only told me in the parentheses that I had 1... what should I do?

I really am having problems with 5.0.4 I have to refresh after each attack just to get the right colors and numbers of my armies and of the armies that I am attacking! (in fact it usually shows all blue even when blue isn't even playing and also shows the number -1) can you fix it or P.M. me telling me how to go back to the old one! But let me praise you for all the work that you have done =D> . before this problem it was a big help now I have lost a few games because of it

Hmm, yes I noticed it too. Seems to be a side-effect of the changes to make it work in Opera. Quite annoying, but still investigating..
