I remember when...
# 1 The scoring system was changed, see:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2265* To avoid the possibility of players with tiny scores gaining a gazillion points in one win, I've adjusted the point formula as follows:
The points to be awarded is calculated as (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points.
Thanks to everyone who pointed out the problem and helped us find a solution.
The background to this quote was a nice one - a genius named
stdb04. Before the change, there was no 100 point cap on the amount of points you could loose. stdb04 realized this and started dumping points until he managed to make it to such a low score that he forced this change in the scoring method, see:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=1731&start=0&hilit=stdb04. All he had to do after reaching 1 point was simply to join a 6-player standard game with a bunch of high-ranking players, win it, and well, his score would have gone up through the roof. Brilliant. Almost too bad people realized what was going on.
# 2 I remember when 100,000 armies was place on Hanover in round 1, see:
Game 25253 and
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=1660#p21257Have no idea what kind of bug it was. But I'm sure it must have been quite a surprise for the other players in that game...
