Whatever happened to clan THOTA ?

I see that the usergroup still exists, but I never see any posts about how great it is anymore. Perhaps this correlates with the massively over-hyped shaming of Blitzaholic and his subsequent decline of activity in the fora, or maybe it's just because I don't follow the clan league-type events these days (I didn't know my clan had even participated in the 2nd Conquerors Cup until I was told that we'd won).

There's a whole bunch of great players in THOTA, make no mistake, but - in so many words - what's the deal ?

Haven't been counting, but with it being Easter, it kinda feels familiar.

Wait... are you referring to the fading of THOTA itself? or just some of it's members?


And yes, that was certainly a severe mis-quote...

General Douglas MacArthur was quoting a popular ballad from his West Point days when he said "old soldiers never die; they just fade away."
Interesting to note that this the closing part of his farewell speech to Congress after he was "banned" by the President for "Breaking the rules" so to speak...

The big difference between this General and yours, is that MacArthur stepped up to the plate and spoke his passion for years to come after that happened, and he was loved by many for it... So in fact, he really didn't fade away at all... he stayed very active in many ways, and he was even solicited by Kennedy and later by Johnson for war advice. A great General to be sure... and i'm talking about MacArthur here, just to be clear...

Say what you will about Blitz; he can move up the scoreboard at will by playing anyone, anytime. Aside from the shenanigans, simply put, he's a proven winner, which I bet after a while becomes mundane. Since he made up 1500 points in a little over a month, I was hoping he'd get just one more point than GLG, take the conqueror rank away from that sham, then take his break; if that's what we're calling it.

Thota had so many top notch, polite players in it's ranks; its a pity that so many went inactive / quit; I liked several of it's members. One thing I'll bet on though; they'll all be back in time and will continue giving clans very tough battles.
