You're from Tennessee, so yes, it's that hard to believe. Stick to making moonshine and stop taking tests multiple times to get your score up. :D

one of the best universities in the united states is in Tennessee, Vanderbuilt university

moonshine isnt that big in the nashville area where im from

I'm guessing you didn't attend. It's 'Vanderbilt' ;-)

No, that one was simple. I still don't get the foreman/ladder one though.

I thought it was bullshit too mate. I hate that association that 'y' is an honorary vowel. It isn't. That said I did get it right as it was the only plausible answer having worked out the a,e,i,o,u.

>Timminz. Took me a while to understand the question after re-reading it a few times, though it is actually well written. Off the top of my head it was positions 7 & 13 (the first use of the word ladder and the last use of the word foreman) which when added = 20. Next prime going up = 23.

I'm still kicking myself for getting Q1 wrong, coz like a plonker I thought the odds of rolling a 1 with 2 dice = 1:3 and getting a 1 with the 2nd die = 1:6, t/fore = 1:18 (when in fact it's 1:36 to roll snake eyes, doh!). I should have asked Pedro - he rolls 'em all the time. And I got the one-legged woman wrong even though I knew the root, but thinking 'cut' I went for a slab of meat. And the last one I got wrong coz I couldn't see a question (thought that was part of the trick) and picked the first answer (forgotten the word already) as it had two syllables when all the others had three so I thought it was the odd one out. 17/20. Not too shabby. Was a good quiz.

How were positions determined? I counted letters from the start of the sentence, since it worked for the example. Got 25 and 22.

Where the words came in the sequence. I think it gave 'falls' as 10, i.e. it was 10th word in the sentence(s).

The way this reads (sounds) reminded me of that old joke.

Customer (asking repeatedly): "Oh, and a nice piece of haddock for my dinner"
Fishmonger: "I'm sorry madam, but for the third time of explaining, we have no H-A-D-D-O-C-F-K"
Customer: "But there's no 'F' in 'haddock'!"
Fishmonger: "Exactly madam - and that's what I've been trying to tell you"

Indeed. However, setting it as a meaningful, worthwhile objective, takes pure stupidity. Assuming the score is an indication of intelligence, takes even more.

The score and intelligence, certainly in my personal experience, are on an inverse scale...the more time and energy I put into increasing it, the stupider I am.
Only when I abandon any care in the world for the score, is my decision making and intelligence in any way acceptable.

It is as you say easy to achieve a captains rank, and I would argue much higher than that, however, it takes real intelligence to realize not doing so, is probably the smarter choice.

Ive gone up past 3K several times, always to have fun crashing back down, occasionally to 1200ish...where even I must draw the line. It is not this crash that indicates my intelligence is suffering, but the rise back up afterwards. After maintaining the number one spot on another site for well over 6 months, and knowing full well I could have just held it infinitely, or at least for the last years, I have very much learned how ridiculous the score really is. It is fun, it can be rewarding, and I don't necessarily even regret some of the time I put into achieving higher scores, but I certainly can say that it was not intelligent to do so....again...on a purely personal level.

Im sure your case is different though. You seem to have it all figured out. ;)

I'm pretty sure the answer to this question is no; however, if the answer is yes, then note that my answer can be ignored given that my score equates to a low intelligence.

I'm also not good at Super Mario Kart.

Indeed, one's IQ has little or nothing to do with one's appreciation of tactics combined with luck and or certain techniques adapted by certain individuals to obtain absurdly high ranks that don't suit them. For example, one would not say that General Montgomery or General Brock compared with Einstein, but these men were great at leading campaigns and defeating the enemy against impossible odds.

I would say that the most clever on CC are those who don't spend a great deal of time mindlessly blabbing in the forums. I would suggest that I'm one of them. ;)

Unfortunately, I answered the golf question incorrectly, not knowing exactly what the "Eagle" is. I thought the "Psycho" question made sense, indeed. Nor was I aware of the exact value of Platinum. I agree with the Gameshow verdict. Mythbusters proved both that most people tend to stick with their first choice and that it's more lucrative if you do not.

i think that anything non metric is retarded. It's so medieval to measure things in feet, miles, gallons, pounds ect. what is the weight of a cubic mile of water for example? everything is related with our metric system, and that type of question is easily answered with cubic kilometers and tons for example.that's why the whole reasonable world uses it. you anglo saxons don't even have the same yards or gallons in the US and UK, get it right ffs. Why use stuff that make sense only in your country?
And english people weighting themselves in stones?? give us a break!

Here at CC, the median score is about 1250, which is Corporal 1st Class.
So this somewhat correlates with someone of average intelligence.
A typical Captain's score is 1850... which is roughly the 86th percentile of CC scores.

The 86th percentile of IQ scores is roughly 116.
I would wager to say that many a rocket scientist are roughly in that same percentile of intelligence.

So far so good...

The OP is a Major, with a current score of 2389... which puts him in the top 3 1/2% of CC scores.
Now an IQ at the 96.5th percentile would be roughly 129.

This is where it all goes wrong...
Pedronicous with an IQ of 129? Bollocks!
:P

For fun, click the link below and see how you score on the impossible quiz...

This quiz is impossible

.

Why did you just say the 84th percentile is rougly 115? o.0 As the average is 100, and standard deviation is 15, and the whole bell curve stuff!

3 guys are having drinks at their local bar, the bill makes 25 dollars, to make it easy,
each of them puts 10 dollars on the table, as they leave the waiter follows them and hands
each 1 dollar back and puts the leftover 2 dollars in his pocket as tip,
that means the guys payed each 9 dollar for their drinks,
now
3 times 9 makes 27 dollar, plus the 2 dollar tip for the waiter makes total of 29 dollars,
where did the last dollar go ???

To make things worse,

Two of the original guys go out for drinks again,
this time the bill is 20, so each of them pays 10 dollars,
the waiter realises he made a mistake, since the bill should have been 15,
to rectify this the waiter gives each guy 1 dollar back, so the guys have paid each 9 dollar,
9+9=18 , plus the 3 dollar tip the waiter kept = 21,

crazy world
have fun
