How to post snapshots in Public Chat in games

Post by King Engineer »

o, to avoid the 12-hour rule, we can post the snapshot on chat for all to see. Here's how:

1) Take snapshot in Firefox. The snapshot appears on your team chat as "snapshot round 1".
2) Copy the game link url and paste it in Google Chrome (or any other web browser).
3) The "snapshot round 1" appears as "snap :: 4~?1㉝彮潮㎻ḻ喆㯷幙嵎目㞻娻乞杯㟹㹝浝潦簻㳯㞳ᰛ䵭⫦篷帛䵕柶㯳尽浜滯㟷帻潭濮㯳娝曪ᔝ嵬杧㐷婍⭭潮玷幜廞盯㮳᨝彍矮簷幙湮滶瞳屙幝珇㞳㨹彮柮嗉柶玷崙淕睶㠻ᨚ䵮濦㞳᰺杌柮㨂儦琳㹍䵮瞮旧᱙杮狮㏥ⰻ佌曦" on Google Chrome.
4) Copy the above crazy letters and paste the link in public chat of Firefox.

Take a look at this game of mine as an example:
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=12435491

This is really helpful for people like me who can't wait 12 hours on a weekday for game (like I can, but I will have to set up alarm to wake up in the middle of my MUCH needed sleep). Hope this helps!

Thus, the 12 hour Fog rule can be nulled for it wouldn't be needed :)

Why would I want to reveal territories concealed by fog which they otherwise couldn't see? May as well play sunny games.

However, I completely support your method so long as my teammates and I do not follow it.

I see your point. But in Clan War games as well as many tournament games, it is currently a rule that the first team to play have to wait for 12 hours before they make a move (so that other team can get the snapshot they need). The first team to play now can directly post the snapshot on public chat now instead of having to wait for 12 hours.

On non-tournament games, you're right, a team doesn't have to do that :)

I actually tried that once upon a time ago! But it doesn't work this way - every single snapshot in all games is unique and has totally different coding (or whatever this thing is haha)

I'm aware of the rule, but it's not relevant to my point.

I thought this was clear: You're giving them your map. When they take a snapshot, it's not the same as your snapshot.

Posting your snapshot in the game chat is stupid because it reveals your entire position--which in most fog games, they can't see. You're only helping them calculate much more clearly how easy it is to eliminate X and to secure bonus Y, etc.

It gives you a huge disadvantage; it's not fair to your teammates, and why not get a sitter?

This suggestion doesn´t make sense for any games in which the fog rule applies, you would reveal way too much information, as BBS already pointed out.
With the snapshot of team A and their own vision, team B would see all the map, no matter of their position.
Ever played a conquest map like King´s Court? If yes, i wonder how you can come up with such a suggestion.

agree with the comments above
i want to play foggy because i dont want them to show my regions and teammates

giving my snap to opponent is not useful, dont play fog in the first place
still the technical way, how to give somebody your snap is nice,
can be used for something else maybe

Hahahahaha!

King Engineer is now taking a second look at that game and wondering if the outcome could have been different...

I hope you got a good rating though.

LOL, I did the same exact thing thinking it was a solution to the 12 hour rule, without thinking it through enough to realize it was revealing EVERYTHING my side could see, not just what the opponent SHOULD see. I got razzed and felt pretty stupid when it was pointed out to me. The classic "slap your forehead" moment of realization.

And I'm an engineer, too. (hence the ballista and gears in my sig) I wonder if that's more than just a coincidence?! ;)

why not just type into game chat any regions that you took, that way you don't have to give a snap shot :o
