They've been merged with GD.

All the topics that were in those can now be found here.

Do you think it was wise?
I think any game forum need at least a Q&A dedicated section.

Merging Q&A fair enough, but a list of Strategy guides was pretty distinct from General Discussion.

Meh..

The list still exists within the sticky. Other than that, Strategy got very low traffic and Q&A and GD had a ton of overlap. Rather than move questions to Q&A or non-questions to GD, we just consolidated.

The thing I noticed when I joined, is that its not easy to find the strategy section until you've orientated yourself with the organisation system a bit. The SoC training grounds are a lot more prominent and at first glance appear to be the strategy section of this website.

the strategy guides have not been updated in forever and very few of the maps that actually require one, do not have one... i suggested to update this section of the forum, the thread, and was told to go ahead and do it... kind of seems anti-productive for someone seeking advice on a map, to just go ahead and make the guideline for said map... i don't know... sometimes CC just baffles me...-Jésus noir

It's not that baffling. With the steady decline in volunteers, there just aren't enough people around to do all the things that should be done, so more and more we see things like the Strategy Guides project simply and unceremoniously dumped. I know I would love to see a strategy guide for every map, but nobody is writing them and they aren't going to write themselves.

There are a lot of tasks on CC going undone; this is just one of many. Partly it's just a natural reflection of the decline in CC's membership overall. Partly it's a reflection of the decline of volunteerism in society at large. People are waaaay too busy installing their flat screen TVs and arranging for custom paint jobs on their Escalades to spend any time trying to help their peers.

I don't know who told you to "go ahead and do it" but he was right. You know an awful lot about CC. Devote just a bit of that time to codifying and arranging some of that knowlege. Write some strategy articles for your favourite maps, or write some other useful how-to stuff, and I'll add it to the strategy guides list or the how-to list or wherever it belongs.

When CC started, there were only a few different forums. The splits that occurred made the forums less user-friendly, and were vapid.

I support eliminating all forums except those beneath f=11 and the private ones.
