Nevermind - learning curve - dice are acting weird lately.

Postby TyLord IV on Sat Apr 12, 2008 9:18 am

For three rolls in a row, I rolled winning dice and nothing happens.

The dice change, but the number of armies on either side do NOT change.

Then I roll losing dice, I lose an army.

I roll two more winning dice in a row, and nothing happens, no change on the number of armies on either side.

I am not complaining about randomness, something else is happening here.

but the army I am attacking only has 1 army and I had 17 (to start)

why let me keep attacking the same one if I did win and the screen did not refresh?

I will try refreshing after every roll for awhile to see what happens.

I am still new, only about three months.

But watching what was happening this morning, and I am not complaining about losing dice rolls, I felt like "screw this, I am out of here, forget this site"

I was watching winning rolls have no effect on troop levels on either side and losing rolls effect my troop levels.

I will settle down, but I know what I saw. I had this strange feeling it has been happening on and off the paste couple of days for me. But this morning I was distinctly focusing on the results of each roll.

I will try the refresh after each roll.

But if it happens again, I am out of here. I don't mind losing dice, I don't mind bad losing streaks. But the other side not losing armies when I do win the dice is ridiculousness.

if you post a link to the game it may help.

I did this once then realised i was bombarding a territory rather than attacking it and wasn't paying too much attention.

Or maybe you were attacking the wrong territory and were looking in the wrong place.

Also try using your Explorer or Firefox toolbar Refresh (not the site refresh) i find it is more certain to update the troop count.

yeap i have done that before! sometimes if placenames are similar or it is an unfamiliar map, you can be focusing on the wrong spot entirely. good point.

roll 5: 5-3-6 vs 6, I now have 16 armies
roll 6: 2-1-1 vs 6, I now have 15 armies
roll 7: 4-6-5 vs 1, I should of won, but didn't
roll 8: 1-2-4 vs 3, I should of won, but didn't
roll 9: 5-6-2 vs 5, I should of won, but didn't
roll 10: 6-5-6 vs 5, I should of won, but didn't
roll 11: 5-5-3 vs 2, I should of won, but didn't
roll 12: 2-4-1 vs 3, I should of won, but didn't
roll 13: 4-5-3 vs 5, I now have 14 armies
roll 14: 6-5-6 vs 2, I should of won, but didn't
roll 15: 6-2-2 vs 5, I should of won, but didn't
roll 16: 2-6-4 vs 5, I should of won, but didn't
roll 17: 2-3-1 vs 5, I now have 13 armies
roll 18: 5-1-3 vs 4, I should of won, but didn't

I gave up. I took pictures of every roll

Well, this sucks.

Slightly embarrassing.

I was getting so mad I almost gave up on this site.

So let me get this straight. I should of conquer space 7 from an adjacent space instead of attacking it from my castle?

I guess I don't need to upload any pictures.

Unless it would add to the humor and entertainment of everybody to see a graphical representation of this folly instead of just a text description.

Luckily I am able to laugh at this.

I imagine you old timers get a good laugh at this about once every 3 to 4 months.

I don't mind.

I find it funny too.

I am playing the map several times right now.

I wonder how many times I have done it on the other games?

At least I figured it out. I was quite upset and felt like leaving this site for good.
