So, at this moment in time would you renew your membership?

Postby hulmey on Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:41 pm

This could be quite a controversial thread and im ready for the backlash (if any). I'm noticing a huge amount of people saying they arent going to renew their premium because the new ratings system is sooo pooor. 6 or 7 of my clan mates are now freemium and some of them arent going to renew because of the ratings system.

This is were it will hurt CC and the only chance we have of getting the old feedback system back or a better feedback system in place.

So, at this moment in time would you renew your membership?

If you reply no, could you please take the time to post the reason why

Personally, no. For a number of reasons -
    1. Because I don't have the money
    2. I haven't been around that often and the only reason I am around now is to do something special
    3. Due to not being around here for the past... few months, too many things have changed which I think is just stupid to me.

So yes, my premium runs out in a month or so, so heyyy.

I have come the point feedback means nothing to me. I play for fun and to win. I will renew. In fact I just gave away a premium to my normal account sitter. She was very happy. I will be renewing when I have to.

i voted no coz i hate these new feedback system, which i loved. it was great reading peoples feedback (good or bad)but now its been replaced with a meaningless and dehumanised system with which I have no connection :(

I say yes... its not about the rating, i could care less about it, but i have fun here and thats really all that matters, if a couple stars are enough to drive you away then you cant be having a good time anyways, aye?

I have to question the overall intelligence of people who would leave the site over something as tertiary as the bloody rating system, especially when it's like a month old.

Sure, I liked the old feedback system too. But it doesn't change the games one iota.

And yes, at this moment I'd re-up. If I end up choosing not to, it'll be because I need a break or don't have the time anymore, not because of ratings.

I love it and will pay again, maybe those that care so much about the feedback should play in a tourney they are a lot of fun...it might just take your mind off of the old feedback and get you interested in playing again

Thirded, double seconded, or whatever the correct term may be. While I'm not mad about the rating system as it is right now, the effect is only to decrease their importance. My overall enjoyment of this site is from playing the games and trawling the boards (while posting rarely).

Ditto here. I'm here for the game, not the feedback.

I'm getting mediocre dice at the moment, so yeah, I'd renew. If I was on a 'shitty dice adventure' right now, I'd be singin' a different tune.

Ah, I've been on that vacation. Rained the whole time, spiders in the bed linens, and I caught the clap from a girl everyone kept calling Town Bicycle.

I don't think I'd renew- although I've had a chance to meet a TON of great people and players. This started out as a game I played and turned into a competitive battle to the top. I knew full well that I'd have no shot at being #1 but in the process I set goals. One of them was just to make 3000 ( Colonel in the old ranking). I've done that and far exceeded what I thought I could accomplish. The thought of not renewing or quitting, it's certainly not the goals I could or couldn't attain but the players I'd miss the most.

No one ever mentioned quitting. And i agree the biggest thing about CC is the commuity here. I talking about taking a stance in what you believe in. If you care about something enough you will do whatever it takes to make it better, even if it means hurting it or our yourself in the process.

again, someone with a very valid point. so true... this is such a social outlet for me and my real life friends, and our now shared CC friends, that i can't imagine not having some sort of game or thread going at any time in the near future... it is more social for me than anything else...-0

Sooo... you are quitting becuase of a feedback system? A few numbers..?

Thats a really bad reason if you ask me, if you like playing here on CC, then you wouldn't care enough about the feedback system to be a freemium just for that.

Personally i don't know if i'll renew my premium, i still have it for another 9 months. I'll renew it if i still find it fun to play, otherwise no.

I'm not going to re new my premium. I've had about as much as I can take from the frigging dice.
Earlier today I had a game where I had 9 to start with on one territory. my bonuses = 18, so 27 armies to attack with. virtually all enemy territories had 1 on.

3 minutes later, all my 27 gone - 8 enemy armies killed. all 3v1.
The game is in the bag, but with these dice - it just pisses me off.

I've also watched people attacking me in RT games and evidently my defending dice are equally as shit as my my attacking dice.
