e-Tickets

Postby 300spartans on Thu Oct 16, 2008 12:18 pm

I'm making this thread mainly to find out how some people feel about e-tickets. Also to share my own experience with e-tickets. If you have never had to fill one out then don't post here.

king achilles wrote:In this situation, playing in team games where you know each other's password, or you know your teammate's password is too much of a convenience and could also mean sharing of accounts. With this knowledge that you know all these passwords, the temptation of playing team games or even non team games with these accounts, whether the real owners are aware of what you already know or not, could also mean that you could log in to these accounts at any time and play in two or more accounts at the same time in one or several games, thus the purpose was already turned into gaining a tactical advantage and no longer just for avoiding missing turns.

Therefore, I have no choice but to put a block on these accounts mentioned below, including yours, because of your access to them. These blocks may also involve other accounts as well.

All may appeal through the e-Ticket and we shall deal with it individually. If there are still accounts not mentioned below, I suggest that you change your password and avoid using someone to babysit your account who already has access to a large number of other accounts.

I had to fill out an e-ticket because of the block list. http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=60631&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Since then the block list has grown to include definitely over 50 people. Almost all of these people are *manimals multis. It should be easy enough to figure out which ones are.

lancehoch wrote:As has been previously stated more than once in this thread, if you disagree with the ruling, open an eticket. Nothing will be handled by posting in this thread. When the etickets have been closed you can post your results a mod may post all of the results. But again, nothing posted in this thread will affect the ruling.

My results via e-ticket:
Thanks for the explanation. For now, we'll leave the block in place.

--Andy

After this I replied twice more with no response. My most recent e-ticket was simply closed without even one reply. So when do you plan on telling me why I am on the block list mods? I am not *manimals multi and max has never taken a single turn for me. My explanation was very detailed and they totally disregarded it. There has to be a way the system can prove that there was babysitting abuse or mani multi abuse under my account. Otherwise I don't belong on the block list.

yeah the way this is being handled is a joke and I'm not even involved

I've never had anyone take a turn for me and clearly there is room for abuse in freestyle games if people are taking turns for others in order to gain an advantage. I'm all for restricting this behavior.

However, if the site is going to block players then a reasonable explaination should be provided for why this is happening

I've recieved one response from the same email that 300Spartans quotes above. I was part of the original block and still haven't received an answer.

The response on September 3, 2008 said,
"Could you explain your side of the issue in detail so we can better review the case?
--Andy"

I replied on September 6, 2008
Andy,

Thanks for your email.

I'm not sure what I can explain. I received the following email...

Hello phantomzero,

Your activity on Conquer Club has aroused suspicion and triggered an investigation by a staff member. It has been determined that you have most likely violated Rule #1 (i.e. no multiple accounts) or Rule #2 (i.e. no secret diplomacy) with the following: elistuy, KingOfGods, Paddy The Cat, maxatstuy, fantasianasian, JCKing, 300spartans, JesusReigns, Prankcall, freeroll84, dallascowboys11, assassin07, 1dominic88, maxs account, ninjaraider, krusher, BlackIrish, Brazileiro, Nom Anor, buttpirate69.

We've blocked you from playing new games with the members mentioned above.

Regards,
The Conquer Club

This email states that I either have mulitple accounts or have engaged in secret diplomacy with a long list of players. I have never had more that one account on CC and I have never engaged in secret diplomacy with the people on this list nor anyone else on CC.

From searching my name in the Forums, my name came up in a few threads about Maxatstuy. These threads talk about possible Strategic Account Sitting by Max. There is no mention of Multiple Accounts or Secret Alliances. Also, there is no rule on the Rules page about account sitting.

Max has sat for my account a number of times. I own my own business and travel a lot (100+ days a year) so I need a couple people I can always count on to take my turns. Max is one of two people who I trust with this duty. If I'm in an Airport or somewhere else I can't take a turn I'll PM or IM Max to let him know how long I'll be unable to take turns. He's always seemed eager to help me even though it's not a favour I've returned. Without a couple of reliable account sitters I would be unable to play CC as I would be constantly missing turns or deadbeating.

From reading the forum threads about Max it seems that he has also been sitting for a number of accounts. I had no idea how many accounts he was sitting for. There also doesn't seem to be any rule on how many people one person can sit for.

Thanks for looking into this for me. I'm not sure if you need any more information from me. If you do please let me know.

Thanks,

Phantomzero

I have yet to receive anything else regarding this ticket. I understand the amount of time that the volunteers put into this site, but I would appreciate a response.

The only ticket I filed was for a usergroup, and it was only denied because I misspelled a name. Regardless I still received a response within 48 hours and after I sent a corrected name, the usergroup was up within 24 hours.

I also filled an e-ticket only once - and received an answer in less than 2 hours. (it was negative, though)

So be an optimist ;) - if you're still waiting for an answer, there is still a hope  8-) (if the answer was clearly negative, it would be easy for them to answer...)

Second:

Max, we simply said that as a precautionary measure you were being blocked from playing with certain players. That list is one that you have built up over your time here. The only one added to that list was Lanyards. Would you have preferred that we just went ahead and busted you?

THIS WAS NOT A BUST. DO NOT CONFUSE THE BLOCKING OF SEVERAL PLAYERS FROM POTENTIALLY CHEATING TACTICS IS THE SAME AS ACCUSING THEM OF MULTIS

Yes, if there is any doubt that 2 players may be abusing their gaming relationship they will be blocked from play.

If Max would like to appeal the blocks, he can submit a ticket on the help page and a 2nd person will look into it.

Moved to the right forum, closed.

Why was this thread closed[http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=66781&st=0&sk=t&sd=a] and whats an e-ticket going to do? I would like to know how many e-tickets max has already sent regarding just this. The fact of the matter is the mods have absolutely no evidence and they made a huge paranoid block list. It seems as if you can just make up rules as you go regarding whats red.... since when. That makes no sense. Get a better system in place and a tool that actually works.

lol...I didnt realize there were still people who think that e-tickets work

I have 4 open currently, and about 3 more which are apparently closed but still remain unanswered. I dont know whether they dont have any way of justifying themselves with this block or just chose to ignore the wishes of their paying customers when trying to find out why the service which we have paid for has been limited. Either way is is wrong and the e-tickets should be dealt with.

My e(extraneous)-ticket was also never answered. It has been a month now and I've never heard of one taking that long. It looks as if everyone on the block list that has taken the time to send one is in the same boat. We are being ignored without an explanation. Getting some valid commentary that would provide sound reasons for the original block list is a bit like throwing a dart at the wall. How many hoops will we have to jump through to get our answer?

300spartans wrote:My explanation was very detailed and they totally disregarded it. There has to be a way the system can prove that there was babysitting abuse or mani multi abuse under my account. Otherwise I don't belong on the block list.

This is the main point we are trying to emphasize and what it all boils down to. If they can't prove to us individually that these forms of abuse were instigated by the people on the block list than they have nothing. They need to justify their actions by showing us where we abused the rules(with each individual providing concrete proof).

It has been far too long of a block! Some of us have been wrongfully blocked. If this all stemmed off of maxastuy sitting on people's accounts then why are we blocked from each other instead of just him? Why are some people that never even gave him their password on the list? Why are players that haven't even played one game with one another blocked? It's an outrage if you ask me. I would assume that everyone has taken the administrators advice and has since changed their password. This, along with blocking us against maxastuy should have solved the problem.

Administrators and mods need to work together to make this right. There are a lot of unhappy customers waiting for legitimate feedback on the matter. Are e-tickets are obviously being disregarded so we are asking in the next best place. Will somebody step up to the plate and acknowledge that this is a laughable way to treat paying customers? Or are you just going to pull an Andy and say, "Thanks for the explanation. For now, we'll leave this block in place"?

his agenda is to get this situation resolved. An explaination and legitimate response is clearly warranted. It seems fairly obvious he is trying to find a way to attract attention to this issue because the recommended channel (e-tickets) isn't willing to address the situation.

If there is a real response from someone of power on the site, and they are cleared ... maybe we can have a clan challenge against you guys. The reason I'm speaking up on the topic is because we have a number of players that can't play with each other because of this crap. If someone can explain what they are guilty of then I apoligize but it is disappointing that the site is restricting the ability for people to play together and can't even justify those actions.

Thanks for the CC Cheer O-Dog, but my quote is relating to our questions about the actual block. Not about e-tickets and why some are answered over others. Although that would be nice to understand as well. We're strongly hinting towards the mods to bring this up to an administrator instead of wasting our times filling out e-tickets that just get thrown in the incinerator. It is apparent that they are highly selective as to what e-tickets they choose to answer promptly and the others they would rather put on the back burner. I want negative answers? I have an agenda? Where does your mind find this puke out of the legitimate questions that are being asked? How about the words restitution and justification! That is what we are seeking and deserve as customers.

As far as I know there aren't any mods that have the ability to handle e-tickets, only admins. I'll ask around and see if I can get any answers for you guys (but I'm gonna be gone all weekend so you might not get a response until next week).

Actually right now it's during Linux Server II :D (but normally it's at night while I'm at work...what else do they expect me to do while I'm talking to customers?)

But I digress, the admins on right now are really busy so unless someone is on right before I leave this afternoon there won't be any answer until Monday night (unless another mod brings something up to them).
