This may not be facebook, but there's nothing wrong with politeness and etiquette IMHO. We're still people, not robots.

Last I checked, AIM and MSN and facebook were for socializing, and this game was for playing...
Kotaro wrote:Why would that be important at all, Lindax? I sometmies don't even scroll down far enough to see teh chat box, let alone type in it.

Skittles! wrote:Which is a really poor attitude to take, do you really care so little that people might be trying to communicate with you? Not looking at the chat-box is equivalent to sitting round a game-table with cotton wool stuffed in your ears. If I played you and found out you did that then I'd rate your attitude 1.

And before you post a reactionary comment to this, ask yourself, who did you vote for? Obama? Then you have just proven me right.

Once again, define "chat". I don't consider "gl" something worth responding to. If someone says "Hey, gl, and how are you this (evening/morning/night), then I respond, but just saying "gl" and "gg" at the end doesn't seem worth anyones time.

Exactly! You can't comment; it's called "not ranking" them in that area.

See! This kind of high-handed elitist response is just proof of the poor attitude that your silence surrounds. Who are you to declare that your opponents do not "deserve" your response? Who are you to decree that their attempts at communication are somehow not worthy of being called 'talk'? Who made you the high arbiter of the worth of their attempts at dialogue? A 1 for attitude is the absolute maximum that snobbish players like yourself deserve.Kotaro wrote:most people, when they talk, never actually talk; they complain about dice or how lucky the other person is. Then it displays poor manners on their part. I mean, would you go to a German site and attempt to play there, knowing that you were unable to communicate with others on the site? People's laziness in learning the language is as much a poor attitude as people who know it but refuse to use it. Both categories deserve attitude ratings of 1.owenshooter wrote:what if they don't speak english?

what if they don't speak english? please explain to me how it is poor attitude if someone from thailand or spain or germany doesn't respond to your english typing? do you ever go to the other language forums and attempt to post in threads that you don't understand the language? do it sometime, it is a real blast!-0
p.s.-what if lack went the way a lot of his countrymen felt, and made this site a "french only" speaking site... would you be able to respond to our canadian brothers that only spoke french in game chat? i doubt it.
Jeff Hardy wrote:if someone on the street spoke to you in a different language would you just ignore them or would you try to explain you dont speak their language?
sully800 wrote:But you said most of the time you don't even read the chat, which is the situation where I would rate someone poorly. If someone says something and you don't respond to it you are displaying a poor attitude. If no one says anything than all players are displaying an indifferent attitude and I wouldn't mark anything for anyone.
