multis/buybacks

Postby ronsizzle on Fri Oct 16, 2009 12:17 am

i would be interested to understand cc's stance on buybacks.

Rule #1: No multiple accounts

Multiple accounts are discovered by routine scans and community cheating reports. They are strictly forbidden whether or not they play in the same games or are even in use. If you suspect certain accounts belong to the same person, please report it following the instructions at the top of the Cheating & Abuse Reports forum.

when i first started my account with cc, it was so clear! so crystal clear! that you would have to be retarded to not understand that. NO MULTIS! it is simple. so why do multiple account creators get a second chance? why not ban them completely? get them off of this site! it makes me sick to my stomach to see former multis still on this site.

but yet, people like dancing mustard are banned forever? poof! off to exile they go.

could someone weigh in here, and explain to me what is going on in here?

am i allowed to create a multi, try to get away with it, or get away with it, and then if caught, buy back, and poof, no worries. as long as i dont do it again?

i understand the community was sucked in to agree to some bullshit guidelines. but as we all know by now, owen thinks everything is racist. he is the little boy, the wolf has come and gone. the crying is now falling on deaf ears of the mods, and admin, like suggestions in the foundry with mapmakers.

maybe this has been explained. but maybe if this is the view of cc, then we need to put an asterisk next to rule #1 in the rules section that states "well, you can create a multi, but pay us again, and you are ok, but 3 strikes youre out".

Yeah, i don't get why people are allowed to buy back so many times. Like that ETROPAL one going on, and the Private Harry ones. I think you create a multi, and your caught, you're gone. -0

The rules don't specifically state that you're gone if you create multis. However, the application of the rule appears to encourage the creation of multis (as long as one has the money to buy back in). If I were a cynical man, and I am, I would say the rich are at an advantage here (like they are in so many other parts of our society). I think the rule should be changed to a permanent ban if one creates multiple accounts. This sort of thing inhibits the direct purpose of this community (namely playing games). --O

To be honest. I do think it's shocking, but how can you actually stop someone doing it, short of checking every person who wants premium's ip address? Surely you don't mean it's actually sanctioned by cc? -0

Yes, sanctioned by CC. You create a multi or cheat, you can pay the $25 and play again.

See this for proof: viewtopic.php?f=239&t=98602&p=2253934&hilit=etropal#p2253934

He was previously blocked from playing with other players for cheating:
viewtopic.php?f=239&t=87334&p=2028099&hilit=+etropal#p2028099
viewtopic.php?f=239&t=92462&start=0&hilit=etropal

As well as busted for account sitting abuse:
viewtopic.php?f=239&t=93932&hilit=etropal&start=15#p2169315

He is a serial unrepentant cheater, but as long as he pays his $25 CC keeps letting him back in. This is a ridiculous decision, unrepentant serial cheaters should not be allowed to continue paying to play.

No flames, no lies, just the truth.

I think there should be a 3 strike rule or something maybe.

1st violation, banned for a month, re-buy $35.00

2nd Violation, banned for 3 months, re-buy $50.00

3rd Violation, banned for 6 months, re-buy $100.00

4th Violation, banned for life.

ron i agree with you, i dont understand why someone in the forums, trolls, flames, and what not, they get a warning and then the second offense, they get a ban, but if i create mutlies its ok, i can buy back no problem.

I think people in general deserve a 2nd chance, but not a 3rd one.

CC should make the buy back $50, but then keep that person on probation, and if they create another multi, permaban.

I don't know why people act like DM and others banned for forum abuses didn't have 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, chances already.

I think the game and the forum are separate,
so a forum ban doesn't stop you from playing.

It would seem that a busted multi who buys back in
is easier to detect if they repeat the offense.

What Makes No Sense Is That When You Are Busted For Multi Your Account Is Guested...

Then They Create Another Account And Pay A$25 Fee To Get It Premium...

They Still Have The First Account... So, Now You're A Multi...

So You're Guested Again...

So You Create Another Account And Pay $25 Dollars... Now You Have 3 Accounts...

Busted And Guested...

And It Was Stated That He Was "allowed to buy back in" But Apparently Only Until I Notice Its Him... Then He's Busted...

Explain That Shit To Me...

I think it has to do with multiple $25.

So why can't forum privileges be purchased back. Must be a casual gaming site but a serious forum site. -O

i am not surprised any more at the craziness that passes for site policy any more, violate game rule #1 and you're allowed back so long as you sink another $25 into the site... beat the mods/admins in the forum with their own logic and you get to take a dirt nap with DM.

still, they have to find a new source of funds now that most of the old players are leaving CC land forever, this isn't out of boredom, they're leaving because the one thing that kept them here is being sanitised in the name of promoting a more family friendly appearance... i guess teamCC think cheating is more family friendly than flaming or trolling, otherwise they'd never let these players back to cause more trouble... -O

we aren't, we are acting as if andy's statement that he is too busy to review the less than 12 permanent forum banned members cases, since permanents have now been reduced to 6 months, is ridiculous. and why can't someone like DM buy back in? oh yeah, i forgot, CC leaned heavily on the fact that he created a multi after his ban to try and divert attention from the bogus reason for his ban and squash the uproar. imagine that!!! ONE MULTI!!! DM broke the cardinal rule!! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!! meanwhile, someone creates 11 and is allowed to buy back in. why? rules are applied arbitrarily about here, and there is no true letter of the law (Mibi, didn't that become apparent when you got away with calling me jackass, poopface and doo doo brown in one thread without receiving a ban?). the rules are enforced unequally and arbitrarily...-DDB

I fully agree; it doesn't matter what's right or wrong in the eyes of the CC-Elite. As we've all seen here, the rules here are loosely enforced and therefore meaningless. What's the point of really caring about what rules one breaks if you can get back in so easily? Although there a few good mods (haha, maybe just one), the CC-Elite has no face especially given their history of unjust bans and lack of bans for certain members.

Money greases the gears here, and extreme punishment is easily and mainly swayed by a certain mod's feelings toward whichever CC-member in question. This skewed system of reward and punishment here is absolutely disgusting and a huge failure on the CC-Elite's part, and this should seriously and quickly be addressed.

I think I've been pimped a couple of times by multis and I don't understand why they allow anybody back after 1 infraction. It destroys the integrity of the game completely. I compare it to players betting on baseball. It has to be a lifetime suspension just like there. -O

That is an interesting analogy actually. I buy it completely. So really the question is for me, would I be willing, to pay another 10 bucks a year, even, let's say double the cost, so that the cash still flowed according to whatever business plan I would guess there is, and keep the mutlies out? The answer is a definitive... I don't know... hmm... maybe.

Hell, I don't even know if I've been multied. But since I've been playing in mostly 1v1's lately it is irrelevant.

I still buy into your illustration however.

Cheers.

lolzers! this post is about multi buybacks, you ignored what i said about that, quoted only what I said about DM and went off on another tirade about a tired and worn out topic from another thread. I never called you a name and you obviously have internalized the Doo Doo Brown moniker, as you are signing your posts, DDB.
