He chuckled. This surprised even himself, causing him to laugh again. "Its over," he mumbled to himself. "I can finally put all this behind me."

Arthur went to the liquor cabinet for some liquid celebration of the disappearance of his wife. Finding it poorly stocked, he threw on his jacket and marched out the door, toward the local pub.

The bartender looked at the young grad student, "He'll be fine. He's not driving."

For the past three years the bartender had watched Arthur come thrice a week. He had seen Arthur's will slowly fade over time as the rest of his life grew more and more ragged. First he lost his wife, then the house. Nowadays he was just a angry drunk, living life one beer at a time.

With a vig would have totally changed the game, we would have had one scum alive, and two or three confirmed townies if we believed you. It would have been a fairly easy win.
