Why 3? Strike is the only confirmed town.

Let's assume you're town, and Rag is the new leader after we lynch Vot. If he knows that I'm going to vig you, he could recruit Strike, and then Rag and Strike will win with the cult, and you and I will lose with town. If he knows that I'm going to vig Strike, then he can recruit you and get the same result.

But if he doesn't know who I'm going to vig, then his safest option is to recruit me.
To me, that is preferable to a 2 out of 3 chance at hitting either the new leader, or his attempted recruit.

I don't see this day ending in anything other than the recruiter lynch. I think this also accounts for the slim possibility of Dega being the recruit better. Vig Traf. Ragian seems consistent with a miffed townie who's been proven right finally. Traf doesn't seem that scummy but not as townie as Rage. Plus, I think he's a more likely person for Vot to target than Ragian.

I actually like the Irony of Vot recruiting Rag the last day. But yeah I'm fine with whatever. I just don't see us not lynching the Thing

Vig who you feel like if you can indeed still vig. I can't see Traf getting the recruiting powers after Vot is dead, but by all means, play it out as you wish.

The Thing Night 4

Postby DirtyDishSoap on Thu Dec 21, 2023 12:53 pm

The remaining survivors get together and try to form a plan. Without MacReady and Childs, the situation is indeed grim. The scientists start to notice something off with Bennings however...for example...Bennings now has a mullet eerily similar to MacReady. "I swear, it's the shampoo and conditioner I use!"

No one bought it.

*FWOOOSH*

Votanic - The Thing! (Original) has been lynched!

You have 48 hours to send me your night actions.

The Thing Day 5

Postby DirtyDishSoap on Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:12 pm

Some interstellar time warp happens and its suddenly day time!
"We're saved! We did it! We killed The Thing! Now I know you gentlemen have had a tough week, but if you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!"

*FWOOOSH*

"Why the hell did you do that?"
"He pulled a gun on me earlier."

Traf - Gary Vanilla Scientist has been torched!

Day 5 has begun!

With 3 alive, it takes 2 for majority!

The Thing TOWN WINS!

Postby DirtyDishSoap on Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:49 pm

I may as well end it. Little reason to continue an obvious lynch.

First and foremost, grats to Ragian i believe who did have a hard in for Vot. No one bought it. Grats to Vot for playing exceptional despite how heavily i made this game for town.

Now, the apologies on my end. Sweet Jesus did i have to slap this together on short notice with 2 less players. I was also really non transparent with alot. For that, completely my fault. I really envisioned this differently and not this borderline bastard game. Both my work schedule, vacation, and really stupid shit that just cropped up was just bad timing.

I do hope you guys enjoyed this game though, despite the lack of attention on my end. If I decide to host again, ill strive to do better and not make it an absolute joke.

Appreciate any feedback. Well played everyone.

GG town. I should have deferred to Ragian. Old habit of underestimating new players popped up again. Pretty sure I only made it to the end because Vot saw little reason to recruit me when I had town read him early. As to Ragian, I'm considering him an honorary town winner. Sorry Ragian.

Thanks DDS. That was fun once things started happening.

I see it's common for cult games to be pretty dull at the start. Lots of townies pointing fingers at each other.

Was it just a mistake that Childs' role said he was a backup vig, but mine did not?

If I had been recruited, would someone else have gotten the FT, and would there have been a message about it?

There were only meant to be 3 vigs but activated upon death or conversion. I had you listed as "Worst Case Scenario" since Windows technically died andv was converted in the movie. Had all 3 died or converted, town likely would have lost.
In order it would have been Mac - Childs - Windows. That part was meant to ambiguous.

My biggest mistake was forgetting to message Charle about his conversion. I didn't catch it until it was too late. Big time oof on my part.

Strike would also hate me for this, but if the original Thing died, the powers would have transferred but a 1 day delay and a 1 person limit conversion.

I also want to add that i think the Blood Test voting was absolutely the best part of this game because of how it captured The Thing in text form. Alot of no one trusting any one until a BT test and then a follow the leader sort of deal. If i had done anything right in this, I'd say the BT was a resounding success.

Ok, sleep time!
