Unit 2 has volunteered to do the XML on this one by the way.

39 Territories
6 Continents

Even though most of the continents still have lots of entrances, I think the idea that most players will go for is to hold a passageway piece that is connected to a lot of their territories to fortify only that border (and the cont. territories who aren't connected to the big passage).

The names are still generic, they will most probably change in the future.

What do you guys think?

A full set of working graphics is advised before anyone will give you real feedback.

May i suggest you incude your terr names and legends in the next update :)

best way i see to name them could be a play on real retail outlets,

e.g. Topgirl, McRonalds, Pizza shed etc

the best way to group them for continents may be by their retail type,

e.g. Foodcourt, clothing retail etc
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Yep alright, I'll add tentative names/bonuses/conts next update. Should I make like doors to define borders or just leave it open?

I would think that the purple is some sort of hall and all the greens are stores.

So I assumed that the stores only connected to one or more of the hall and not other stores, and the halls all connected to all their bordering halls.

How big are territory names usually? I've got 14 pt Arial Black, but it's probably too big.

You're probably going to want to think about the use of impassable borders, as it's considered bad when every single continent can only be held by defending every single country therein.

Plus the cinema should be bigger.

And a fish market? That seems somewhat not in keeping with a mall.

Please do keep working on this. I think a CC Mall would be entertaining. You might want to take cues from various mall-related movies (i.e. Mallrats, Dawn of the Dead) and games (i.e. Dead Rising, State of Emergency) and really have fun with it.

Maybe you could put in 2 ATMs that each auto-deploy 1 army per turn.

Possibly you could have it so each store can only be attacked from the corridr, not each other. then all you would have to cointrol is the corridores (obviously this would require a good bit of continant changes and other differennces to make it work fully)

Haven't watched or played those 'denza. That ATM idea sounds good. Maybe make them small countries. Or have one border the bank and the triangle. Well we have fish markets in our shopping centers in australia so yeah <_<.
I can't think of another big shop that would fit there.

Balsiefen: I thought about that, but then that would be too many dead ends and it would be really lame and such.

if u end up letting us rent out spots, than i would want:

Bryguy's $100 Store

hehe, and my slogan would be:

Where everything is $100 or more!!

The slogan thing is a joke, but the name is a real suggestion

I think you need to clear up how movement works, right now it looks like everything touches everything which is really open and usually not good for gameplay.

When your border territories are the same as your continents total territory count things are usually uncomfortable. (with a few exceptions)

Yeah coleman, I'm going to add some unpassables in a few. Not sure how I'll do that as this is a shopping center and you'd expect the shops to connect to the walkways... hmm..

For impassables, you want to consider a few options:

Fountains (a lot of shopping centers/malls have them inside)
Inside Greenery (I've seen trees and plant life in some areas)
Staircases
Stores Under-Construction

Also consider a similar idea to CCU and Madness...doors. Some stores are connected via doors inside, some aren't.

well for one, you could reduce the size of the stores then make another floor and put it side by side, would be tough on the small map then though

I've added doors (now all lines will be unpassables, can only go through doors) to the western continents and a bit of the southeast. Should I make the 'doors' a different colour, like a different shade of that continents colour, or just leave it as is?

You could make some escalators so we could slide down them like on Gleaming The Cube.

You'll have to do something to make the doors stand out a little. It may also be beneficial to spruce them up a little, perhaps by adding:

====| |==== <---- Something like that, where the doors stick out one way or the other.

You might want to brush up on mall movies, as the largest demographic segment of CC is American teenagers that spend ridiculous amounts of time at the mall. :D
