i think it would be cool to show just the flag for each region, then in the bonus list, show the flag in miniature, the region name, then the number of bonus armies.

Led, thats a nice map you got. You need to make France bigger though if you want to fit names and armies inside those departments. You could cut out Spain and the med perhaps?

the only problem with that, is how we are going to put territoriy names, it will get hard

edit: and some of the flags blend in together, we could maybe make the region borders darker, or a different color, but it will get tricky

in a 500 by 500 map i had no prob with the territories at 10 point font. you might need to put them in non-italic double or triple line format, like
'Loire-
et-
Marne' ....

My dear theallnewbatman
I already asked twice a France map revamp. And if you read the actual map thread it has been asked even more. The problem is to have an authorisation from CC to override the veto from rev_kyle. Then we can dream of a new France map. Btw this is the reason I did an 18th century version.
AndyDufresne wrote:Per the map maker agreement,

Conquer Club can use a map image for as long as it sees fit---so theoretically we could abandon a map in favor of another.
If there is interest in a real France Map REVAMP, get in touch with the C.A.'s.

So if you can gather enough interest around it I'm ready to work on graphics.
About gameplay maybe instead of the département names can we put the préfecture (main city) names

what i was going to do until i saw your awesome map :P It's probably best way cause otherwise it'd have a massive keu box about bonuses seeing as they're is about 21. Are you going to include paris bonus in this box and if so how are you going to make it distinguishable from the Ile de France bonus> and does your word ile de france have that little accent above the i?

i only put an accent if there's no capital letter I in the île-de-france :D
et merci for the input pomona!! I had thought of the préfectures/capitals of each region but i think that is another map... :D i would also like to see an 1848 paris map of the revoloution and/or storming of the bastille!!

on my map it's easy to fit region names in they fit perfectly 2.5mm size and seem easy to see but might just be that it's to big but it seemed smaller than led's map

led, paris and île-de-france start neutral in the 18c france beta. something like that might also be interesting here. at least paris :)

Soo is this project dead? What is the status? I was looking around and I would like to try my hand at making a map. I have a nice image to start with. Anyhow I am not gonna step on toes if someone has this project already. If not I want it . :D
