thanks for that pick-up x-raider.
I've included K7, and added a little something to the Kayak text.

I'm checking the xml, on the whole it seems good, it has passed the validation, the map looks really clean and I have just few minor suggestions:

Small map
I would move these a bit:
- Horsley Park, a couple of pixels to left so the 888 doesn't cover the small red light
- Austral, the same...
- Pimble, again the same thing, but this time move the number down

Large map
Some 888 aren't placed in the best place possible, but maybe it's just me. e.g.Liverpool, austral

----

Now, actually I can't think a way to change the next item on the list, but maybe you can.
I absolutely dislike campbelltown, the name on the left side and the number on the right, yes I can understand it's the same region but it's very very unclear.
In addition, if I try to find an explanation for that (since it's different than in any other palce on the map), i read into the legend Cross to opposite regions
But it's not in that way. I understand the space is tight there but i don't understand why you need that road there. It's useless, it gives to you only less free space to fill with the other things (name, number). Personally i would get rid of the road.Same thing for katoomba, where you can move the road a bit.
About that road, what about cut the road in katoomba within the "map border"? Did you tried? How it looks?

A final note: maybe it's worth to write somewhere that K regions are not part of any bonus/regions since while checking the xml, for few secs i thought you had forgot to include few regions into the file! ;)
Anyway it took just few secs to realize how they work, although I wouldn't be surprise if someone will come here to say that K regions look like they are part of the region bonus in which they are contained.

Sorry if the above elements were already discussed

The xml looks ok

I believe this is already there, on the left side under the mini-map.

You right. I was looking at the version with neutrals when noticed that thing then I didn't look at it anymore, So I didn't see it's different on the final version. lol

Actually, i'm not intertest in changing Campbelltown or Katoomba...that would detract from the culture of the map showing that the highways go through those regions.

That has been altered!

Sounds good, it can stay in that way.
If players will find it confusing I will push for the road removal again, but for now I respect your decision specially because you know about the place much more than me! :P

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Classic Cities: Sydney Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

              Image

While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
    1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
    2. It is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.
    3. Write a "creative" map description and send it to the Foundry Foreman via PM. You're encouraged to post it into the first post of the thread as well; the description will be used to populate the maps database.

The map is live!
Like I said in the Jakarta map thread, when and if we will have a dedicated "classic cities" tag, we will possibly change the name, for now we have labeled it like Classic Cities: Sydney.

Could you please write a description fo the map so i can add it to the map database?
Thanks

FYI, it's showing up in the gamefinder menu as "Classic City Sydney" (same for Jakarta).

I really like this map and would like to throw my two cents into it. There's just a couple small things, the hill border between Jamison Valley and Blue Mountains National Park I feel should be more larger and/or darker to emphasize that it is impassible. Next the opening in the mountains between Warragamba + Sydney University Farms appears it could be a little more larger, now to emphasize that it is a passable border.

Still an excellent map and I love it!

Re: CLASSIC CITIES: Sydney [10.11.12] V21 BETA

Postby Steve The Mighty on Wed Nov 28, 2012 1:59 pm

Game 11924486 - there seems to be a problem with the number of armies shown for each player. In this game and another that I played previously it showed a player with three regions although only 2 were visible to me. Having checked the game log it shows on his turn that he had 3 regions - 2012-11-28 16:28:38 - TJBanksy002 received 3 troops for 3 regions and my partner took one out. The number of regions held remained at 3 although I did not know this to be wrong at the time.

Hope this helps

Just took my first turn in a triples game and took some time to study the bonus system.

Looks like it's got some very appealing small bonuses that can be acquired even in larger team games. Nice work. :)
