i'd appreciate if you could at least try and justify your reluctance towards this map ;)

Where's territory labels?

Some of those backgrounds might be hard to read army numbers on...

Love it, not too sure about the style, but I love it. We could do with another map for the child in us.

I hate that I know this, but this really has nothing to do with quilting. Sewing? Yes, but quilting? Not at all.

Mostly though... I just don't see the point. Maybe if you were trying to do a crafty map and had a few different types of craft in there, but I'm just not feeling this one.

awesome, little animals can attack other little animals.. starting positions all neutrals but start.. small variations in steps and bonuses (readable)

could be a new favourite map

actually it's not about quilting it's about wars that happens on a quilt hence the name Quilt Wars instead of QUILTING Wars.

and as koontz said it's a map for the child in us. in fact i was inspired by this after looking at my kid play.

seeing as there is support for this idea i shall go forward with it.
i'll get on now and split the top right continent in 2, then i'll add terit names and post a new update.

I think overall, it is a pretty image. I might play on it, but I think you some people would just avoid it, so it might be an uphill battle some.

yeah, obviously some will like it some won't. but that's something you can say about any other map. i'm not too fond of some maps either but that doesn't stop other people to play them like crazy.

so those with a soft spot for kids and those that are still kids or wish they were still kids will probably enjoy some games on it. we already have tons of realistic historically accurate maps but the funny kiddy like ones are very rare.

One thing: the bonus legend isnt' very clear, the quilt patterns are partially obscured by the bonus numbers... maybe you could move the numbers to the sides of the patches or make the patches larger?

Also you should probably also have names for the bonus areas.

Also, the 2nd and 4th one look kinda similar... maybe tweak the colours a bit?

One more thing, and this might be too troublesome to actually do, but it would be really cool if you could make all the text look like it was stitched on...

Pokemon meets grandma's quilting club...

The concept is novel... but I'm not sure I'd play it more than once cause I really don't give a crap about quilting.

The more I look at the map, the more I think I'd like to play on it, if only for a nice change of pace from all the war themed maps we have.

there is absolutely NOTHING in common with that map. not the gameplay and certainly not the graphics and obviously neither the theme.

The twist I get in my stomach when I look at it is very similar to when I look at the monsters map ;) . I like a lot of your maps but not this one so I'll opt out on following it.

I think it's sweet, go for it. I'm excited about your graphic skills, there is nothing to pinpoint.

I agree with Natty that bonus patches can be difficult to distinguish from each other, with names or more diffrend color it will be more clearly.

when that is said, then who ever wear that shirt has a creepy taste

I'm going to give this map a look over maybe today or tomorrow, and see what real feedback I can give it, since I think I'd actually like to see it in play.

This is why I love the Foundry. We can have the following maps all in development at the same time: Quilt Wars, Trench Warfare, and Tokyo.

V3:

*made the patches in the legend a bit bigger. i hope the textures are visible now.
*made all the terit names look like they're made of thread whilst still keeping them as readable as possible.
*changed some colours
