The Majority of Americans Support Wut?

Postby Phatscotty on Sat May 19, 2012 12:44 am

There have been a lot of big fat lies being spread around lately, thought I would share some facts.

Following is a list of each state that has voted on the issue of defining marriage as a union between man and woman. Passage of the various proposals has come by an average margin of 67-33 percent. To date, every state that has voted on the issue has affirmed the traditional definition of marriage being between a man and a woman.

It's pretty simple to see what the majority is. How have the people telling the lies that the majority of people support gay marriage been able to get away with it so long? Why have they been lying? What else are they lying about?

Why do you hate freedom Scotty?

EDIT: Your map is wrong on almost half the states. And you cherrypicked which polls to show. And your "average" is probably way off. Especially when most polls are around 50-50 or if anything the total opposite direction. And who said the majority opinion was necessarily the right one?

The majority of people voted for Mitt Romney, therefore he is the best candidate to represent the GOP, and Ron Paul is the 4th best because he came in 4th.

Wait, the majority of people actually vote on issues? That's news to me.
To be fair all those national polls with a majority for gay marriage are BS for the exact same reason though.

This is less about what the majority opinion is, and more about the people who have been trying to manipulate the issue by lying about what the majority opinion is. If you truly want to know who cares what the majority opinion is, I can give you a list of names who have been using their false "majority opinion" argument to try to justify their position. Perhaps they can tell you why they cite the majority opinion, and why we should care what it is and what it means.

Actually, it looks like people are AFRAID to tell a pollster how they truly feel, but there is no way that is related to the bully tactics that have been employed and the lies that have been propagated.

But of course you would declare victory based on what people SAY when confronted about the issue, while 100% ignoring what people literally DO when deciding on the issue.

Your "poll" is obviously incorrect and manipulative, as the results prove.

Can I ask, what year is your data from? Iowa fully allows same sex marriage since 2009, and your map says they do not allow it. Your information must be at least 3 years old (where national opinion was still majority anti-freedom) until proven otherwise.

A link would help.

No, you are wrong, in many ways. I didn't cherry pick anything, as those results are not polls. They are results of actual votes (like it says in the OP?). There is nothing to cherry pick, as there is only one set of numbers. Are you seriously going to keep citing polls, when the actual votes have already been cast and the state constitutions been amended and the issue decided?

This is getting crazy.

I see, they are all referenda. One of which was in 2012 (North Carolina; aka what else did you expect there?), one of which was in 2008, and the rest of which were from 2006 or prior, including some from as far back as 1998. Did no one change their mind since then, Scotty? Or is my chart just entirely made up?

Why are you picking out one state, commenting "what else did you expect?". EVERY single state decided the same/similar thing North Carolina did. The question is, WHY were you expecting something else in all the other states? You should not be surprised that "what else would you expect" turned out to be 100% the norm, and the country is uniting on this big time.

I expected the American value of freedom to reign supreme? I guess freedom is indeed not an American value then.

Or, your data is old compared to mine, which is not only likely but true. The majority of state referenda took place in 2004-2006, where nationwide opinion polls lined up around 60-40, which is close enough to your average.

Sure, my data is old. About 6 days old

Any other attacks on my data left, or are you ready to FINALLY accept reality and stop hating Democracy?

Nope. You (the collective you, the group that agrees with you) won. We (the side that doesn't agree with you) lost.

Is it really "changing their mind"? Or is it indoctrination and bullying?

Thanks for pointing out Iowa G-pawn, I was wondering about it also. I found another one that includes Iowa, but excludes a couple other states.

Yes, this is clearly a case of gays bullying straight people into feeling bad for being the way they are, because that's how life works.

I know. I am about to release the #1 reason for my support of traditional marriage, and why it is more important than ever to me and other people who value freedom and liberty, than any other reason. And that will be my closing argument.

Wow, you always change the reality of the situation like that? Is that what the gay agenda does? make heterosexuals "feel bad" for being the way they are? NO! you are soooooo dishonest here.

The truth is the gay agenda bullies straight people into fearing being labeled homophobic.....as you have seen on display here on a daily basis by Liberals, Communists, and Socialists. That is evidenced by polls suggesting the issue is close to 50-50, but when people get to choose privately and say what is in their heart, the number of people who vote for traditional marriage rises to 60, 70, and even 80%+.

You are dishonest, and on purpose
