since that thread, most of the groups have sort of reluctantly backpedaled, saying that the bill was a bridge too far, etc. standard non-apology bullshit. but finally, a brave amerian patriot is stepping forward to defend some good old-fashioned genocide: http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/3241012954.html
"Uganda's people and government deserve support, not criticism, from the United States," said Kincaid. "They are up against the international homosexual lobby, the money of George Soros, and the Obama Administration. They are trying to create a Christian culture that is protective of families and children."
at the national prayer breakfast recently, both obama and hillary clinton spoke out against the bill. this was pretty monumental, since a group called "the family" sponsors this breakfast, and they have close ties with the politicians in uganda who are behind the bill in question.
what's more, a gay ugandan spoke as well -- with his face covered, out of feat of getting killed if he didn't: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMKY2DB1Dk0
his story is pretty harrowing -- he's been raped by the police in uganda, and couldn't report it because health officials might give his name to local newspapers. apparently ugandan papers have been running stories headlined "HOMO TERROR" and "TOP HOMOS" and such, with lists of known homosexuals. these individuals have been fired from their jobs, beaten, and worse, because of it. you should watch the video, it's really something.
