a better title would be "some singers who have had pop success but i don't listen to, and i have no idea why i made this list"
You were halfway home to constructive criticism before reverting to your natural flaming ways. Baby steps I guess. Good job.
Bill Corgan's range and unique voice > Frank Sinatra's range and voice... GTFO
My gripe is that you claim this to be pop singers, when it obviously isn't. Shit, I'd barely even consider The Cars as a pop band. Popular, yes. Pop, no.

Sigh, if you think that was flaming you. I tell you what I'll do - I'll make a music thread. one you tube linked track per day of something that was released on vinyl. Something that I either own or would listen to.
Check it out and learn to appreciate some decent music.....

Are you kidding me? The Cars are the epitome of a pop band. 'Shake It Up', 'My Best Friend's Girl', 'Just What I Needed'. Those are about the poppiest tunes you can find in the 80's. Also I'm not claiming that all of the singers are purely pop singers, mereley that when they do perform a pop ditty or ballad that they are good at it.
Also if you're going on the premise that they have to be 'pop singers' then I really have no idea what's starching your socks about Sinatra not being on the list. You find him in the show tunes aisle, not the pop section.

1. You're disregarding a whole list of great singers with a broad stroke there.
2. I'm not dissing your music but feel free to post it.
Note to all: you have less of a chance of converting someone to your musical tastes than you do of converting them to your religion or political party. Just FYI.

Given the broad musical spectrum that the typical person enjoys over their lifetime I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. However it is a bit of a moot point as I'm not trying to dissuade anybody from liking whoever they like.
As for Miley Cyrus, no I'm not a fan of her either. But she does do a good job in her own right. And I could recommend 3 decent songs she's done off the top of my head, 'Party In The USA', 'Nobody's Perfect' and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.'
YOU FUCKING DUMBASS.
Girls just want to have fun is a Cyndi Lauper song. You clearly have absolutely no fucking clue what you are talking about. That song is over 20 years old. Older than Miley Cyrus has been alive.
maybe you should do more then 'skim' the list if you're going to be so bold about your opinion.
Clearly I don't have to.

1. I realize that it is a Cyndi Lauper song. I also realize that Miley Cyrus did a brilliant cover version of it. OOOPS. Don't worry, we can find an a__-footologist to get the foot out of your mouth.
2. You have made no sufficient argument. You have only made irrational arguments. So your contempt against studying the list and putting forth a rational counterpoint is only fitting.
It's 'cover' status has little to no bearing on your original argument against the list. And it certainly has no bearing on the fact that your inept attempt to diminish my knowledge of the subject.

I completely disagree. I think anyone can learn to appreciate any type of music. Changing someone's beliefs is changing who they are, fundamentally.

Let me be blunt. There is no argument. I have no desire to argue. I merely want to express to you that you suck, and your taste in music sucks. That is all.

that's why the idea has to be basic, so it grows on its own and it actually comes from them. otherwise we'd be forcing our idea onto him, and his subconscious would reject it.
SPOILER: Inception ends with DiCaprio's character finishing the job, waking up in the airplane, heading home with his dad (Michael Cane) and finally seeing his kids. Some say it's reality, others a dream. Cilian Murphy breaks up his father's company.

Again. Talk about the music/list or don't. You continually insist on flaming and not adding to the discussion. Also this list is not a direct reflection of 'my taste in music' as I have already made clear.

That's it? no pissed off rant? I am disappoint.

Entirely possible, but I would personally be more responsive to a political/religious argument supported by evidence, as opposed to a musical taste argument which revolves around emotional appeal. I'd imagine some others would be as well.
Anyway, I don't have much to say about the list as many of these were before my time.
