Does anybody play Stratego?

If you are reading this then I will assume you are a fan of Stratego. What I really want to know is if there is an online version out there similar to CC?

If you join the site try to let the site owners know that although it is a great idea, the site needs some work. 65% of games played are won by default/timeout.

I suggested adding 2 minute turns, a pause game feature, and 24 hour turns. Also the game chat doesn't work and the site definitely needs a community atmosphere.

Stratego in rl is ok...I couldn't imagine playing tons of games at once.

I don't know of one, but it is a fun game for me to play against the kids. My 14 year old just defeated me back-to-back recently so he's grounded.

My best friend used to beat me 9 out of 10 when we were teens. Now I rarely get a chance to play, but am undefeated in 10 games. (over the past 2 years)

I loved that game as a child. My father got me an electronic version for Christmas one year and it had sound effects and everything. I too have tried looking online for a playable version but haven't had any luck. I tried teaching my son how to play but because the pieces didn't light up or move on their own he passed...

I think I actually found CC looking for stratego online. I never found stratego.

I wrote a BASIC language program for it on my Commodore 64 back in the stone age. It worked pretty well, but you had to play each turn on the same TV (yeah before monitors were hot) and leave the room so the other guy could take his turn.

One of the last times I played Stratego was with a 10 pump pellet rifle.

Pellets have no respect for rank.

Fun game but never had the draw that Risk and pellet rifles had.

There are currently 3500 ish registered users, it must be brand new. I am TimeBandit (because all I need is another online game eating up all my time) if anybody wants to play.

I am playing my first game now. It MUST be brand new. It is clunky, almost as clunky as my BASIC game. The chat doesn't seem to work and you have to constantly hit the refresh button.

Well, it is REALLY clunky and somewhat annoying with inoperable chat. I will keep an eye on it for improvements. Also, the real time ONLY games require at least an hour or two investment at a stretch. Turns are 5 minutes and you can play multiple games simultaneously.

I played it for a game. It's cool - But you have to wait around for your opponent coz of the 5 minute rule. 2 hours and 180 turns later my game was finished. It'd be fun to play someone you know though.

Ok, the referenced site is brand new. Unfortunately there is no "contact us" or chat feature there. It definitely has some potential, hopefully it will evolve into a more friendly environment.

I would like to play some games there, but it is hard for me to find 2 contiguous hours where I can sit there and click refresh page constantly, especially without a chat option. At least then one could carry on a conversation while one waits for his turn.
