It turns out that there is an "r"! Amazing guess, and excellent wager! I for one am amazed no one has yet guessed a wrong letter!

Sadly, it looks as if ViperOverLord has signed off for the day. We might have to resume this game later. Just so everyone is aware, please do not attempt to solve the puzzle by just shouting out words. You need to suggest a letter, not write out any words.

That's odd, I got this feeling that pmc was on to something with his guess...

Is there an 'L' in the word then? Upper- or lower-case, I'm only writing an uppercase letter because it's easier to distinguish.

You know, I just realized that a stick figure image of someone being hanged with a descriptive word beneath it might suggest that ViperOverLord thinks that's what should be done to people described by that word.

Since ViperOverLord is representative of all Tea Party Members/Supporters, that could be yet another clue as to what the word is!

Interesting guess MeDeFe, we'll have to wait until ViperOverLord comes back to the thread to know for sure!

The 15th century meaning of the word I'm thinking of makes no sense, I admit that, but there is a much newer one dating back to the 1960s according to the Chambers online dictionary.

Sorry everyone. We might have to put off the conclusion of this game until tomorrow.

ViperOverLord hasn't come back into the thread yet, and I'm not sure he's even online. I have sent him PMs (NONE OF YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PM HIM ANYMORE REGARDING THIS GAME ONLY ME) asking if any of those guesses are correct, but I haven't heard back yet!

I guess we'll all have to spend some time ruminating on the implications of what word you assume it to be, and then pass judgment on the entire Tea Party accordingly.

(I will of course continue trying to get him to respond, so we can put this thread to rest)

You know, I might just be wrong about the tea party. I had always thought they couldn't stand minorities, and based off the way they usually portray those minorities I thought the answer might have been "Person of African Descent" or, God forbid, "A Bl*ck Guy". Instead, considering the high probability that the word is "digger" (that doesn't count as my guess, I'm just speculating

I never once said I went to a tea party. But I would not be ashamed to stand up for principles.

Well, everyone, I think we all owe a hearty thanks to Frigidus and clapper011 for correctly guessing the last letter!

Turns out that ViperOverLord is as wiley as a snake, and he hid part of the solution! Remember early in the thread, when someone noticed the word was actually eleven characters in length? Turns out it was!

Look!

We sure came close to disaster, just one more bad guess and we would have lost the game!

It's a dark day for gold-diggers, the Tea Party is here to say "No More Freeloading!" to all of them. "And put my wallet back on the kitchen table!"

And shame on anyone who thought it was a racially descriptive word, EVERYONE knows there's no racism in the Tea Party! What were you thinking???!?!

Out of all the groups/movements that are thousands of people I find that the tea partiers are less racist and negatively prejudiced than most groups/movements out there. Your race politics is just a way to not talk about important issues that face us. Shame on you.
