Logic dictates that there is a God!

Postby jay_a2j on Wed May 17, 2006 9:01 pm

First off put aside any bias that you may have...weather it be religious or anti-religious.

Now science has said, Life cannot come from non-life. Which is common sense... a rock will never reproduce since it is not living.

Then you trace back all life to its orgin...the very first living thing.

Where did it come from?

The ONLY answer is someting or someone has always existed. And that someone or something must have the power to create (or reproduce).

There must be a God.

Science also dictates evolution could never have happened (but lets save that for a later thread).

Jesus Christ, I can't believe I'm actually wasting my time responding to this drivel.

First off put aside any bias that you may have...weather it be religious or anti-religious.

Ok, but you first, you hypocrite. Take a good look at the answers you provided for your poll, and tell me with a straight face and fingers uncrossed that you're really checking your bias at the door, and not just trolling.
You should know that no sensible person could ever provide an answer to the question you ask and give you a one-word answer, so your poll is irrelevant.

trace back all life to its orgin...the very first living thing. Where did it come from?

Well, the popular theory is primordial ooze, you peasant. Maybe if you would've spent a little more time in science class and a little less time in Sunday school, you might have heard that.

There must be a God.

Some sort of consciousness linking us all together, perhaps. A man in the sky who sends you to a fiery pit when you don't do what he says (but he loves you)? I don't think so.

Science also dictates evolution could never have happened

Since this is 100% false, I can only assume that you're an immature troll who is only posting redundant Bible Belt philosophy for attention. Grow up, and when you do, open a fucking book or two and learn something. Oh... wait. I forgot. The Bible tells you everything you need to know: If you can't explain it, it's a mystery.

That's crap. This thread is crap. You are the embodiment of nearly everything that I hate most about this country.

Obviosly you DIDN'T put aside your bias. The poll has NOTHING to do with the logic of life's orgin. Keep spewing insults there..I've been called worse by better.

primordial ooze???? What is this star trek?

You can't refute a single thing in the original post! You are hell bent on the non-existence of God. Maybe if you simply pondered the orgin of life you'd see that SCIENCE does not have the answer!

Evolution my friend is an imposibility.... Science teaches the ability to SPEAK is a LEARNED behavior! Who then taught the apes to speak? and not just 1 language but hundreds of them????

Furthermore if evolution is always happening WHY do we not see it all around us??? Perhaps a bird with gills or a lizard with feathers?? Even a single fossil of a gekko growing a wing bone! EVOLUTION IS A LIE.... much like the drivel you posted.

Now if you'd like to talk theology I'm game. Your view of God is twisted to say the least.

God doesn't "send you to a fiery pit"... you CHOOSE the fiery pit by rejecting God.

Why doesn't God just allow everyone in heaven???

Cause God can not live with SIN. So if you are a sinner... ya just can't live with him. Your choice, not his. And He doesn't force you to love Him.(Cause that wouldn't be love would it?)

What is the "Amerian Taliban"...I assume you meant American. You need to get out more there is no "Taliban" in the US or at least "American" Taliban. Obviously you are in the Michael Moore crowd. I expect more from you liberals. These "drive-by" one liners don't fully show your ignorance..... post more.

Okay, I have no problem with you believing in your own religion but when you start forcing it on other people is when I get pissed. You can't ask people to put aside their bias and consider your point of view and then act in a blatantly biased way...
I'll do my best to address what you've been saying....
Your comment about Primordial Ooze shows that you are hell bent on the existence of God and refuse to admit any evidence that might go against God. Also if you want us to respect your beliefs I think you should act in a slightly more mature manner and not call what we say Drivel.
The reason we don't see evolution happening around us is because it's a very slow process and you can't expect to see a bird suddenly be born with gills, it just doesn't work like that. Also the reason we never see those fossils is because the animals who evolve crazy things that don't work is because they die quickly and they are rare enough for it be to extremely unlikely for a fossil to be formed of them.
Before you reply, flaming me and and insulting my beliefs I would just like to say that I do think that there may be some kind of Supreme Being out there and just because i believe in science doesn't mean i don't believe in some kind of God.

1. Noone was "forcing" anything. My personal beliefs were not in the original post. It was after thegrimsleeper started insulting me and misrepresenting God that a theological post was initiated. If your going to attack God.... at least be accurate.

2. Don't attack me for using the word "drivel" when I got it from grims post!

3. "The reason we don't see evolution happening around us is because it's a very slow process and you can't expect to see a bird suddenly be born with gills".... I don't care how slow it is there would be fossil evidence of this process occuring. I believe its called "the missing link". (Noones expecting a bird to be suddenly born with gills)

4. "Also the reason we never see those fossils is because the animals who evolve crazy things that don't work is because they die quickly and they are rare enough for it be to extremely unlikely for a fossil to be formed of them"..... do you actually believe this?? The dinosaurs died out quickly and we have found tons of dino fossils.

Alot of people believe in evolution and God. But it can't be the Christian God cause it contradicts his word.

God and Science need not be opposing forces. Its just futile and sad to use the knoledge God gave man...to try and disprove God.

Religion and God... have very little in common.

Religion was created by men... to explain the unknown and to hold power over others.

The only true spirituality that exists... is between an individual and God.

All else is false and blasphemy.

i have nothing wrong with peoples beliefs in God, i personally do not believe in "him" and i again have no issue with anyone who does. However, i do have an issue with people who believe things to be true, when in fact they are not. no i am not refering to God here, im refering to your "facts" about how evolution does not exist. that is, excuse my french, bull shit. there IS scientific proof of evolution in the progression of fossiles from various different animal speices. just a few months ago a skeleton was found that linked water based animals to land based animals. I would again like to stress that i am not mocking, or trying to offend you, i am trying to show you that what you preceive to be nothing more than scientific propoganda is actually fact. the process of evolution and genetic mutation is fact. the concept of "missing links" comes from the fact that of the perhaps billions of animals who lived on the planet over the past 2 billion years, a small, small fraction have survived in fossilized form. this might be an argument you, as a person of faith, are used to: just because we can not see it, does not mean it does not exist  .

Whoa whoa, where do you get this man! Are you some kind of preist or authority on the subject. You claim to let people have their own views but you bash their ideals. I think it takes more faith to believe in evolution than God. It's either some rocks smashed together and somehow made an ooze and somehow stuff walked out and swam and then grew legs somehow etc. Or... God created it all.

I believe in God and evolution... they're not a contradiction.

I don't believe in organized religion... it has zero to do with God.

Religion is all about power, control and money.

Well, I suppose that all depends on how your brain works. If you've got a very complex mind, and place more stock in more complicated ideas, then you probably gravitate towards a theory like evolution. If you've got a simple mind, and prefer easy answers, then of course you believe in a magical "poof!" creation of the world.

Last I knew it was called the theory of evolution...not the fact of evolution.
There is a difference between "evolution" and "adaptation". Animals do "adapt" to thier surounding there is scientific evidence of this. But there is NO concrete evidence that evolution ever occured. (That is the transformation of one spiecies into another totally different spiecies over a long period of time) DNA makeup in itself is a barrier, humans have 26 chromosomes unlike an ape. Do they sell chromosomes someplace?

An earlier post is quite accurate in saying "it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in God."

Furthermore, even if evolution did occur (which I firmly believe did not) it still would not answer the question of orgin of life.

Fieryo...I appreciate the debate without the insults. :)

You see, this is what's funny! You don't even know what the word theory means in a scientific context. It doesn't mean "guess," the fact that the Earth revolves around the Sun? That's a theory too. And that theory is also contradicted by the Bible.

Where are all the nuts claiming the religious merits of a geocentric universe?

Also, the nature of god bits that fell into the conversation. God doesn't care what religion you are or what you believe in at all! God created Man with free will. Why would he want us to follow him and give us that gift at the same time? Surely if God wanted followers he would have just created more angels.

The fact that we have Free Will negates the concept of Sin and Hell. To think that God would be an indian giver and give us free will while simultaneously telling us not to exercise it is ludicrous at best. There is only one thing in the world that could be considered a sin: Fear.

Fear prevents us from understanding the nature of God. Fear keeps us from exploring the concepts of God on our own. Fear keep us in neat little rows in Churches while we eat a wafer that the Padre is telling us is the Body of Christ.

Do you know what Christ is? Christ means "Messiah," and that isn't Jesus' last name. Jesus doesn't have a last name. He's another prophet like Moses. He was killed for proclaiming the Kingdom of God in a land that already had a King. Christ isn't a person, he's an idea. That idea lives in the heart of every person on Earth. Every Christian, Every Pagan, Every Atheist, Every Agnostic, Every Satanist, Every Jew, etc.

To deny this is to deny God's place in the world.

God's place is not in the Church nor the Classroom. God's place is in the hearts of everyone, whether they be believers or not.

To quote Bill Hicks:
"Today a young man on acid realized that matter is merely energy at a slow vibration, we are all of one Consciousness experiencing itself subjective, we are all God's children and his love is unconditional."
