Football is so overdone. So too is basketball and even baseball. (They play baseball in college? Apparently they do.) No, it is Hockey that is the true silent and unsung sport of college champions. To get to the "Frozen Four" of the NCAA Division I is pure frozen gold. The ECAC consists of the following exceptionally excellent institutions of higher learning: Cornell, Harvard, St. Lawrence, Dartmouth, Yale, Union, Quinnipiac, Colgate, Brown, Rensselaer, Clarkson and Princeton. Last year Union College got to the Frozen Four, but lost to Ferris. (Trust me, Ferris is as strong as Iron.) Of coruse BC kicked Ferris' bottom.
This year, the RPI Engineers have started out 1-1-2, winning and tying a game to Ferris, and tying and loosing a game to Minnesota State. This Friday we take on the dreaded Union College. Ah Union. Why does Rice play Texas? Why does RPI play Union? We will play one game (Friday) at RPI and the Saturday game will be at Union. I have tickets to both games!
Mind you the last time RPI won the NCAA was in 1985 but I have high hopes! I feel a Frozen Four this year for sure!
