The Tournament Directors would like to invite you to nominate a member for the Rookie TO Award! All you have to do is post the name of the member you'd like to nominate in this thread, and give a short reason as to why you feel they are deserving of the award.

It could be something such as running his/her first tournaments efficiently, creating an original and well thought out tournament design, always providing useful information and updates, or even running his/her tournaments to a standard that you'd expect from a well experienced TO.

In order to qualify as a "Rookie TO", your nominee must have started creating tournaments within the last 6 months, in other words his/her first tournament must have been created after 1st May 2010.

Please Note: If your nominee has not yet completed any tournaments, the tournament(s) should have progressed significantly in order for the TO to be nominated. Nominations of this nature will be permissed at the TDs' discretion.

Once nominations have closed, there will be a public vote to choose the winner, who will receive a General Achievement Medal and the right to include "Winner of Rookie TO Award 2010" in their profile/signature. Nominations will be open for 2 weeks from the time of this post.

P.S. If you're unsure as to whether your chosen member qualifies or not, send me a PM and I'll check out the dates of his/her tournaments and get back to you.

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

Guys, I believe the point of this topic is to nominate different people and a vote will take place later. So, instead of showing you can count, go to the forums and return with a new name (: I'm sure there are plenty of TOs who deserve recognition, lets hope a lot of them will be posted in there.

I'll get back here after I've looked around a bit, I have some names on my mind but can't be sure if they are eligible to be nominated.

Question. Can a person nominate only 1 candidate or more?

I'm trying to say that you should walk around with open eyes and maybe perhaps find another person to nominate. Especially, as the person who you have picked, has already been nominated.

I nominate user:
stevkov

For the organization of these two tournaments (his first):
viewtopic.php?f=90&t=124720
viewtopic.php?t=126843

These two tournaments were well organized, thematic, with these two special goals in mind for both tournaments:
1. Popularization of the newly introduced map (Macedonia map) within conquer users
2. Introducing the map to the players from this country (Macedonia) via invitations to the tournaments and appropriate tournament themes
Live long and prosper.

The idea is that you nominate a Tournament Organiser, not a tournament. A specific tournament can of course be the reason for nominating that TO, so feel free to add that to your post.

To answer amazzony's question, please nominate only 1 Tournament Organiser, then there will be a public vote once all nominations have been received.

i'll nominate jmyork82

I was running several tournaments, but ended up leaving cc for a couple of months for personal reasons. he took over a couple of those tournaments for me as his first run of tournaments and has done a great job and running them. The tournaments he took over has unique formats.

Not sure if merch313 has been running them longer than six months--I think it is pretty close--anyway-if he can be nominated I nominate him. He is running more active tourneys than anyone--he runs all of them in a timely manner--they have neat little graphics and charts--an all around fantastic job.

dr.lucas would be my second nomination--he has been doing a great job with a few concepts--always in a timely manner--just an overall great job

There seem to be many decent new TO's but these are the two that stand out in my mind right now.

Curses.

I started my first tournament on April 29th, 2 days before the cut-off - so no chance even if someone was gonna nominate me. :(

By creation date, you mean the date it was first posted in the Create/Join forum?
Or the date when the first games were made?

Where was this award back in December when I first started running tournaments? :? Last I checked, rookies were rookies for a full year. ;)

It's a rookie of the year 2010 but only the 2nd half

I don't really see the point of this award.

alstergren is also someone who deserves recognition--I will probably think of more as I am playing--he has created many new tourneys all in a timely manner and run very professionally.

Tomorrow I am sure I will find another nomination

Fine.

I nominate drunkmonkey.

Not too sure about the exact date of his first tourney, but he made a couple really interesting and inovating ones.

Like 'The Eliminator'.

edit: corrected tournament title

If you are rewarding it should be something like Oscars
with multiple categories for the whole past year.

Did you manage to miss Tupence's post?

I also have a few more I'd be willing to nominate, but obviously I can't any longer :(
