To quote Billy Joel, "Why must I go to extremes?"

In the 2nd frame, rmjw10 has made the First Double =D>
And, ScootChina and TAFFATTACK have both recovered from bowling double-gutters to come back with a strike a-piece.

3-strike scores are being posted now. 3-spare scores (and first elimination) will be posted soon.

My sincere apologies for not updating sooner. I had at least tried to keep the games going. I will try to update the scores page more frequently in the future.

The final Round 1/Frame 3-spare game has just finished. 9 players have been eliminated in round 1, leaving us with 21 players.

One big note: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Check your calculated score for accuracy. The individual frame scores should be accurate, but when adding a strike-3,spare-4,0 together, I might not make the correct addition.

I will be sending out the invitations for Frame 4-Strike shortly, but right now I see the following groups:

Double Strikers:
1. rmjw10 (highest score at this time* (48))
2. dominator2000
3. AslanTheKing
4. Freebyrd1977

Single strikers/sparers:
5. Gabriel13
6. Onagras
7. harvmax
8. centac/Wizz00
9. Barney Rubble
10. MacFan12
11. rosco23
12. Evil Semp
13. pittsburgh00
14. adam666
15. contreras.ale
16. blindman30

Double Markers:
17. Gilligan
18. rjhankey
19. ScootChina
20. ProsthoDoc
21. mickunited333

* - AslanTheKing, Freebyrd1977, mickunited333 and rjhankey could take over the top spot in Frame 3, depending on their Frame 4 scores.

Updated. Still waiting on the final 4-Spare and 2 of the 5-Strike games. 2 of the 5-Spare invites were just sent out.

If there is no objection, starting at round 7, we'll do 3 frames at a time until someone gets within 30 points of 300.

Eherm, "I don't know why do I go to extremes?"

Sorry he's my favorite musician :)

Anyway, I haven't completed my 4/ game yet so I'm not sure why it's a 0?

It's not. Your 4X score was a 0, though.

Scores updated. Invite for 5-Spare A has gone out.

Note: 5-Spare D and 5-Spare C had the correct players, in each of them, but were misnamed. (5/C should have been 5/D and vice versa.) This did NOT impact the correctness of the scores or gameplay.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
***ALL SCORES ARE NOW POSTED IN POST #3***.
Also, since the final score in Frame 5 could be off by as much as 30 points (due to Turkeys or the possibility thereof), I've had to set up "Round 3-Definites" and "Round 3-Provisionals"; see Post #3 for more details. No one is near 300, so it is likely Frames 6 and 7 will be very similar in players.

Well, everyone say, "Thank you, AslanTheKing" for kicking several out. Post #3 is not yet fully worked up; I ran out of time this morning. However, AslanTheKing is the first to score a 4-in-a-row strikes.

Yes. I had meant to update this weekend anyways, but we are awaiting the completion of the final game of Frame 5. We are in Round 20-something of a Round 30-limited game.

Frame 5 scores - Anyone with a score of (Leader - 51) or lower is eliminated:

1. AslanTheKing - TBDA2
2. rmjw10 - 50
3. contreras.ale - TBDA2
4. rjhankey - 49
5. dominator2000 - 61
6. ScootChina/CapnVonTrap - 50
7. Freebyrd1977 - TBDA2
8. pittsburgh00 - 44
9. Gabriel13 - TBDA2
10. ProsthoDoc - 43
11. MacFan12 - 39

TBDA1 = To be determined after 1 shot; (last score was a spare)
TBDA2 = To be determined after 2 shots; (last score was a strike).

AslanTheKing is unstoppable. With his sixth frame strike, he will be eliminating most of the competition.

I haven't ran the numbers on this next statement, but I'm thinking if he strikes on Frame 7, he will be the undisputed winner.

In Frame 6/ (B), MacFan12 has yet to join. By looking at the scores there, everyone is under 60 for Frame 5. AslanTheKing is at least 110 for Frame 5. That means ...

1. Everyone playing that game is eliminated already anyway, and
2. There is no point in asking for a reserve in the Play-Now Topic.

For that reason, and to keep it simple, I will join that game if MacFan12 refuses this final invitation since it will not affect Tournament outcome.

We're still waiting for one Frame 6-spare game to complete. For that reason, I've only updated scores for ONE player, the point-leader, AslanTheKing.

For Frame 5, his score was 114. That means that anybody that has a score LESS than 64 at the end of Frame 5 is eliminated. (Based on a quick look, it appears at least one other person was NOT eliminated, so the tournament will go on.)

Both Frame 7-spare invites have been sent out.

MacFan12 is considered to have eliminated himself; he was kicked by the computer for missing too many turns on his last game. He did not have 64 points at the end of Frame 5 anyway, so the only reason it matters is that it makes 7-Spare (A) a 4-player game instead of a 5-player game.

Frame 7-Spare (B) is still finishing up, but we have some news to report:

First, Round 3 will have only two players - AslanTheKing is strong with 114 after Frame 5, but contreras.ale held on (just barely!) with a 64 in Frame 5. The wording of the tournament was crucial here; contreras.ale would have only been eliminated if he had not been within 50 points AslanTheKing. He was within EXACTLY 50 points, so he stays.

Second, tragedy has struck our Turkey-ed Gabriel13. He was back at 58 points at the end of Frame 5, so even though he Turkeyed (got 3 strikes in a row) on Frames 5-6-7, he is eliminated. :(

For our final two players, I will be sending out 8X, 9X, 10X, 11X, and 12X invites soon. (AslanTheKing cannot hit 300 even if he wins all 5). Since there will only be one player left after the strike games, we will assume the losing player spares (since it is impossible to be defeated by yourself).

The final 3rd Round/Provisional game has finished and final scores are available for 28 of the 30 players of this tournament.

Of note: Gabriel13, with a last-second Turkey, makes it into 3rd place for this tournament. His prize? The pride in knowing it. Congrats, Gabriel13! :D

(Shameless plug: My 2nd attempt at a tournament, this time a much simpler one, is open for enrollment under Simple Classic. It's filling fast, though.)

After having been 50 back at Frame 5, contreras.ale moved to within 24 at Frame 10. Within the week, we will be entering the 200s and I expect within 10 days to have a winner.

I expected to have a winner within 10 days. These guys fight, though. Frame 15 invites are out and we're definitely heading to Frame 17.
