Yup. Once your vote is recorded, it stays the same unless you change it.

If you're ever curious about the votes, check out the "Players" spoiler in Post 2.

Poor fuzzy. He was always so polite to the neighbours, and gentle with dogs and cats...:(

There's always gotta be one....

Okay, I don't have my player lists at work, but when I'm home I will start the next round.

History of Nuclear War I [Phase Six Europe]

Postby Dukasaur on Tue Nov 22, 2011 9:23 pm

Toasted by the nuclear fire this round were fuzzy316, pleve, Marshallbobby, and Jessamine. 16 players remain. Three of the four fatalities were NO VOTE players, and Marshallbobby was a FOGGY vote. This would bring the vote to 5 Sun and 4 Fog, but meanwhile rjhankey has added his name to the Foggy list, so we are once again tied 5-5. Last time I had to break the tie, I went with Foggy, so to be fair this time I will go Sunny.

show: Phase 6

Phase Six games have been created and invitations sent out.

This round we say "bon voyage" to calicus and deantursx. Both were "no vote" players, so the vote remains 5-5 and for the third consecutive round I will have to break the tie. I'll continue with my policy of alternating, so this round is Foggy.

We say goodbye to mcshanester29 and rjhankey.

Adieu!

mcshanester29 was NO VOTE but rjhankey was FOGGY, so for the first time in four rounds I won't have to break a tie. The surviving votes are 5-4 for SUNNY.

Re: History of Nuclear War I [Phase Eight]

Postby Dukasaur on Mon Jan 30, 2012 3:08 am

Leadership in atomic research was quickly passing from Europe to the United States. Much of the reason was Nazi racial policy: a huge percentage of the world's top atomic physicists were European Jews who fled from Germany or its satellites and eventually made it to Britain, Canada, or the U.S. While that factor alone would have shifted the forefront of atomic research, the production of a practical nuclear weapon was a huge commercial and industrial undertaking far more expensive than mere academic research. Getting the kind of massive funding the project required was not likely until the attack on Pearl Harbour officially brought the U.S. into the war.
Phase 8
12 players in 2 groups will play 6-player games on the Pearl Harbour map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

Fatalities in Phase 8 include Frito Bandito in Game 10526673 and uk massivein Game 10526674.

Frito Bandito was a non-voter but uk massive was a Sunny vote, so once again we have a tie...:(

Fog vs. Sun, 4-4.

Well, last time I had to break the tie I went Sunny, so this time we'll go back to Foggy.

Re: History of Nuclear War I [Phase Nine - USA]

Postby Dukasaur on Sun Feb 26, 2012 6:37 am

With the U.S. becoming a fully-committed participant in World War II, its incredible industrial capacity was soon harnessed to turn atomic fission from a laboratory experiment into a practical weapon. We will explore this further in the second tournament in this series. For now, we begin by just acknowledging the U.S.A.
Phase 9
10 players in 2 groups will play 5-player games on the USA map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

Edit: games have been created and invitations sent out.

Both of the deceased were SUNNY votes, so for the final cataclysm I will not have to break a tie: the vote is now a very decisive 4-2 for FOG, along with 2 players who never voted.

The sequence for the final is:
darkbluesky
dazza2008
Culs de Sac
Risk_Averse
Fewnix
Faro
Soldier4Christ
zissou2

Remember, the final Nuclear Cataclysm is Terminator, with a point for each kill and two points for each win.
