Requirements:
The registration for the TOP 250 Singles League will be open until Sunday, February 18th, 11:00 a.m. GMT. To be eligible for the league, you have to be on the first page of the scoreboard, i.e. TOP 250 player, at the registration closing time.
Depending on the number of players we will have 2 or 4 groups of 6 players. The groups will be defined according to the ranking of the players. Group 1: 1,4,5,8,9,12 and Group 2: 2,3,6,7,10,11.
You will play 10 matches (6 player games) in each group. The maps are predefined. They will be Classic, Europe, Tamriel, Discworld, Middle Earth, North America, Philippines, Africa, Arctic and Senate (may change if not launched until that time). We will play some matches in parallel, so it won't take us 10 weeks to finish them.
In order to reduce the chance factor to a minimum, all matches will be standard, sequential, no cards. To increase the difficulty of the games they will be chained.
Points for each match:
1st: 10 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 2 points
4th: 0 points
5th: -2 points
6th: -4 points
The first three players of each group will be qualified for the next round. If we start with 2 groups, next round will be the final round consisting of 6 players. They will play another 10 matches, same principles like in the first round. The one with the most points will be the Champion of TOP 250 Singles League.
If we start with 24 players, i.e. 4 groups, round 2 will be 2 groups each 6 players. Each group will consist of 2 first place, 2 second place and 2 third place players. We will define round 2 groups also according to the ranks. The rest is the same as above.
One more issue (see poll):
I plan not having substitutes. If a player does not show up in 2 days, I will ask the tournament moderators to enter a pseudo player and deadbeat. That will be a kind of neutral player. However, I have to check this possibility with the mods. If that's not possible, we will create a new 5 (or 3-4) player game. As some players may not want to have deadbeats in their matches (although this may bring an interesting aspect to the respective match), I made a poll about that issue.
**UPDATE**
Here is the result of our first poll:
Do you like the idea with pseudo players, if a player doesn't show up?
Yes, that's a reasonable option to continue. 40% [ 12 ]
No, that doesn't make sense. Open a new 5 player game. 30% [ 9 ]
No, a substitute is the best solution for this case. 30% [ 9 ]
Total Votes : 30

Here is the result of our second poll:
How many rounds should be played before the match is considered as finished and rest of the points are shared equally by the players still alive?
30 - 18% [ 5 ]
40 - 29% [ 8 ]
50 - 33% [ 9 ]
60 - 14% [ 4 ]
other (please specify in your post) - 3% [ 1 ]
Total Votes : 27
As you can see 13 voted for <=40 and 13 voted for >=50.
I decided to take the average of them, i.e. if a match is not finished after 45 rounds (at the end of Round 45), rest of the points will be shared equally between the players still alive. **UPDATE**Games will be finished out normally after they stop counting for the League.
Example 1:
turn 45 and 3 players left
points to be shared= 10+6+2= 18
18/3=6 points for each of those players
Example 2:
turn 45 and 4 players left
points to be shared= 10+6+2+0= 18
18/4= 4,5 points >>> 4 points for each of those players
**UPDATE**
Here is the result of our third poll:
What map should be chosen for Match 10?
Chinese Checkers 33% [ 4 ]
Montreal 41% [ 5 ]
Space 25% [ 3 ]
Total Votes : 12

Question:
What if there is a tie in points between two or more players? Who will qualify for the next Round?
Answer:
For the first Round: Those players with equal points will play an extra match.
For the second/third Rounds: We'll first consider won matches in total. The one with higher won matches will be qualified for the next Round. If won games are equal, those players will play an extra qualifying match.
