Map Making Consortium

Postby gimil on Mon Oct 10, 2011 4:05 am

Hi my fellow map makers!

A long time ago in days gone past a map making usergroup was formed, AADOMM, who consisted of the map makers of old. A place of memory and map making friendship. Since this bygone age many of these map making friends have moved on and AADOMM has turned into a ghost town, a distant memory.

Today I wish to look forward start a fresh taking the new foundry and giving them a place of there own. A place where we can socialise as friends, not just map makers, a place we can share experiences, knowledge, tutorials, a place where we can coexist.

Who is intrested? Who would like to form a fellowship in the modern map foundry?

Usergroups like that tend to be active for a few weeks and then people will stop posting...

How about just making a thread on this forum where foundry people can socialize? Sticky it on the forum and name it "the foundry social thread".

with a hidden usergroup forum you have other privileges that you don't have out here in the open.
you can talk about sensitive stuff, divulge private info etc.

Yeah... I don't see the point. If there's some private information you want to share with someone you can use PM. Having things out in the open will make things more transparent, make it easier for new guys to get into the foundry "inside", and reduce the image of "elitism" that non-foundry people seem to have about the foundry...

If you like the idea natty you are more than welcome not to join. But you opinion that these type of use groups dont last is wrong. AADOMM saw plentyful activity for a couple of years. I would start such a group if I didnt believe I could make it successful.

this group is open to anyone as long as they are contributing positively to the foundry, you can cal it elitist if you want, but that's not really whay it is.

Sounds like fun to me, and I'm always looking for a way to be more of an elitist anyway since I can't be one in real life. :)
