This game has a theme, and therefor we have names ( planewalkers ) and if needed, he could have backed his claim with his role name WITHOUT exposing his partner.
He did not had to expose someone to verify a weak mason claim. It makes no sense whatsoever to expose a second townie out of the blue on day 1. Our power is that of discussion, and exposing everyone quickly isn't in our best interest. Period.à
Second, lieing is scummy, that is true. I however heard ( and seen ) townies lieing for the sole benefit of town. They know wether they need to take that risk or not.
