I don't want to do that, because I play CC for fun, and the high points I may get would not reflect my awesomeness in RISK overall...........it will just show that I know how to get high points.
Also, I have amazing team mates, but overall my team game winning ratio is about 50%..........so its hard to gain points you know...............
Any tips please ?

I haven't done any maps on something stupid like Waterloo yet (I browsed them, looks too damn big). Specialize in a map. I like the Easter map a lot as it's more of a conquer style (start with 2 spots, rest neutral) and have destroyed everyone I've played so far (Manual, Freestyle, Escalating, Fog, Unlimited on that map).
My advice: find a map, pick settings, and go to town.

This is a great strategy for a lower-ranked player. I used it myself. But you have to try to make sure that you're generally playing opponents of the same rank or higher as you. This gets harder as you become higher ranked.
I think I've either topped out or nearly topped out at the level I can reach playing just 1 v 1 on the settings I like to play (e.g. not farming), without being significantly discriminating in the games that I join (i.e. only playing players at my rank or above).

why would you want more points?
points don't measure skill. they simply show how good you can abuse the system and how much you can bend rules.

They do measure a skill, the skill of using the system to score points, whether you approve or not is irrelevant.Just as exam results do not measure intelligence, just the skill involved in passing them.

I would disagree with this. Some deployment and dice can overrule good strategy, but I don't think that most maps on 1v1 are dependent on that. If they are dependent on anything outside of strategy, it is mostly turn order.
2 of the most used added functionalities are the statistics table and the Map Inspect.
The statistics-table is created from the logs, it shows for example how many armies someone received last time they started a turn. It also calculates how many territories everyone has in a fog-game.
The map inspect-feature makes it possible to highlight some territories on the screen, for example to check which territories could give you a bonus. Highlighting is done by hovering over certain elements:
players/teams in the statistics-table or on the right: highlight all territories of this player/team.
card: highlight territory belonging to this card.
Bonus/'continent' in the statistics-table or on the right (if enabled): Highlight all territories belonging to this bonus (if you need 5 out of 9, it will highlight all 9 territories).
Territories on the map: Highlight (with a certain convention) the territories that border this territory.
6 different options atm: Border (2-way attack), attack-only, defend-only, bombard, bombarded by, mutual bombard
Greasemonkey script which adds a button in team games to private message entire team. Automatically adds game number to PM message and subject.
