Welcome everyone! After a long time away from hosting, I'm back!!! This is the tenth in the series of the Many Lands Tournaments. This one is Many Lands X - Going for First.
PLAYERS MUST READ HERE BEFORE JOINING - As per the events name, Going for First, when you sign up you must PICK TWO MAPS YOU HAVE NEVER WON ON BEFORE, one for first round, and one for second round if you get there (only exception is that HIVE cannot be picked). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TWO MAPS to choose, as I will be checking. In one of my earlier tournaments I had to kick out two players and will do so in this one as well if you don't have any maps to pick. If you want me to check what maps you can pick, let me know!
The format will be 5 player games, with 25 players divided into 5 groups. Players will be randomly placed into the first round groups.
Each group gets 5 games to play in first round (sorry, premium players only), one on each of the maps players have chosen first. If one player gets 3, 4, or 5 wins, they win the round. If one player wins 2, and three others win only 1, the winner of 2 moves on. In this round, if two players are tied at 2 wins each, the first tie-breaker will be if one of the players has won on the map they chose when signing up. The second tie-breaker will be a 1v1 game on a random map to see who wins the group. If all 5 players are tied at 1 each, the first tie-breaker will be if only one of the players has won on the map they chose when signing up. If there are multiple players who won on the map they chose, those players will all play one game on a random map.
The second (final) round will be the same format, but on the second map players have chosen, with tie-breaker rules as listed below. But here's the catch - if the player won on that same map in the first round because somebody else picked it, they will need to chose another map. And sadly, if no maps are then available for the player, that player is out and replaced by the next highest winner that did not advance. If there is a tie breaker game required for 2 players, it will be best of 3 games, with two of the maps being the same as in the round and a random map. And should there be multiple players, it will be played on five maps (if for 3 players - three picked maps and two random, if 4 players - four picked maps and one random, or if for all 5 players, a replay to the round).
All games will be Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Chained, Fog, No Trench, 50 Round Limit.
Once 25 players are in, I'd like to add up to 3 reserves and get started ASAP. Players will have 48hrs to join or will be replaced promptly with the reserves.
