This is the opinion of Serbia the CC user, not Serbia the Tournament Director.
Bollocks.
You don't talk about it, but you add a point, the tournament scene, that keeps interest if you don't want to get involve too much in a clan.
And tournament are very accessible.

I do loathe the petty drama, but I guess since I'm still here I enjoy my clan mates and the camaraderie more than I hate the spurts of drama.
I do think that the increasing activity of the clan world has has a detrimental effect on the tournament scene. I don't know about 1v1 type games because I don't play them, but there are far, far less of the large, epic, and interesting doubles/triples/quads tournaments. Whenever there are team tournaments now, they always seem to be of the "1 map, win 3 games" variety.

I know at Empire we had only made it to 20k, it'd be interesting to hear what other clans have as an indication of activity levels
G1 has 55,089 posts since Oct 2007.

I think it's the other way around: The lethargic and unexciting way the Tournament Department is run, makes people come to the clan scene. There are much more interesting tournaments going on in the clan world than in the tournament part of the site. Plus the added bonus of hanging out with like-minded people is always a plus. I remember the good old days I ran Lx Doubles Series tournaments. You'd always get a core group of teams fighting it out every tournament. Kinda like hanging out with like-minded people. Don't see much of that anymore in tournament scene....
I went to the clan scene to run a tournament. Go figure, I'm not even in a clan....

Yes we get it!!! The TD department is terrible, we are all boring and drive people to the clan world ....as a TO I have found it no less or more exciting in the past 2-3 years. Some tournaments are really a lot of fun and some are not. Some are basic and some are more intricate. Some are more exciting and yet some are not.Sometimes you have 50 tournaments open for signups sometimes you only have 25. Its your right to criticize and all, but really its the same stuff you have posted over and over...you don't agree with how the TD's are doing there jobs we get it!!...can we move on now??
On a happier not..I am Glad you found your place in the clan world
Oh yes and apparently it has to be said "This post is not meant to flame or bait, I am just stating my personal view"

Dako wrote:I remember great doubles tournaments by ballenus. Oh how I wanted to win one of them each time I signed up there! They were one of the best. All TLO's are still considered one of the best team/clan tournaments there ever were. 7UP is another nice one. Some TOFU players like to play a lot of games and they sign up for tournaments. We also try to keep up with major large-team tournaments and join them if we have the capacity.

I may do another TLO tourney again if you guys like it so much. I decided to stop doing them because I always seemed to make more people unhappy than happy when I had to make executive decisions....
