I like your work, I know you can make interesting maps, lol.cairnswk wrote:Coleman, thanks for considering me in the list. I very much appreciate that.
Uh, okay.cairnswk wrote:Questions if I may:
I really didn't have a vision, the only thing I wanted for sure is the one or few territories per player representing different races and the colonizing the planet.cairnswk wrote:1. How many terts were you thinking of having?
Probably, whatever ends up fitting the art.cairnswk wrote:2. Do you want standard army shadows?
I think so, but it is fine if it doesn't.cairnswk wrote:3. Do you envision the planet having oceans with dividing continents?
I want the planet to feel alien, so anything really goes, there could be a section like the hexagonal thing that blends into a normal risk area, although I was thinking more along the lines of the planet being a bit more standard then that.cairnswk wrote:4. Do you want a standard RISK type map or are you open to something like hexagons I used in Actium? Or even a combination of differnet styles if they work together?
Each space ship/station is going to be a different alien race that wants the planet so they probably aren't going to be the same. So I guess my answer is no.cairnswk wrote:5. Any preferences for a colour scheme? like white and greys for space ships etc.
I liked the style of art you were doing, and figured you could handle an alien landscape if you wanted.Telvannia wrote:thanks for putting me on the list, cant say that has happened before![]()
That looks very human to me, and like a satellite more then a station or ship, but I do like it.Telvannia wrote:here is a example of my spacestation graphics,
I can do other types of station but this is the style and quality.
I like that, it's more artistic then playable, if you know what I mean, but I like it a lot.Telvannia wrote:EDIT: Added a quick planet sketch.
Sorry I hadn't listed you, I listed people who I could recall doing landscape type work that really impressed me, but those planets are really awesome. I'm not concerned to much about the size of the map as long as it isn't so big that Andy or Keyogi are 100% against it. A good idea would probably be anything that doesn't stretch the forum boundaries, if that makes sense, if not I could elaborate. I'm confident gimil could make any amazing image into a good map, especially if DiM was willing to help mesh his boarders together with the image.wcaclimbing wrote:I could make a planet for this. Not the map, just a planet and moons and stars and that kind of stuff. I would give the PSD file for the planet i make to whoever is doing the map-making part. I can just make the image that gets turned into the map.
I have been doing sci-fi/outer space art for fun for a while.
Here are examples of planets i have already done.
PS: sorry that those were so big, but i can make pics like those or much better ones if you want me to.
That's possible.gimil wrote:Rather than a single planet why not work with our entire solar system?
Each planet as a continents
That sounds like a total war situation, which I also like, but that presents a completely different set of challenges. Not really the theme I had in mind, but my main concern was the 'Conquest' game play.gimil wrote:or even, rather that the space stations surrounding a planet, have 8 solar systems (Real or fantasy) each with a home planet where a player starts out, the have the objective of the map to take over all the home planets.
Well, I think you could probably do as much as we want, I'll wait for more discussion to happen to see what interests people more and which artists are interested and then we can get something more organized going on.gimil wrote:p.s im flattered that you think highly of me
pss im happy to help out in any way that i can
qwert wrote:Well i must say that you must have some rules in Map ideas, several times i open some topic, and i just read something like these"What you think of these idea,i realy hope that someon create these". I think that if these start to going in these direction we will have 200 topic with no point, and you must have some rules to people dont open topic if dont want to create maps.
