This doubles tournament follows the format used for the Football/Soccer World Cup. Maps: American Civil War, British Isles, Caribbean Islands, High Seas, Holy Roman Empire Tie-Breaker Map: Classic Settings: Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny, Casual Games: 4 Player Doubles, Best of 5

Since I will allow an unlimited amount of teams to sign up we will most likely need to bring down the amount of teams to 32 for the Group Phase. How the Qualifying Phase will be played exactly depends on the amount of teams that sign up. Most likely we will have some teams with a bye and one or two rounds of single elimination. In that case the byes will go to the teams that signed up first and match-ups will be determined randomly. [EDIT: September 6, 2011] I will make the cut-off at 64 teams. Each team will play one other team, best of 5 games. Winners go to the Group Phase, losers go to the Losers Round. If a team doesn't join I will use a reserve team if I have one, if not the opponents advance to the Group Phase. Losers Round (qualifying phase only):General Achievement Medal [EDIT: September 7, 2011] The Losers Round will be a simple bracket with 32 teams, the teams losing the Qualifying Phase. Placement in the bracket will be determined randomly. No reserve teams will be used. If a team doesn't not join their games, their opponent will advance to the next round. Group Phase show: Group Phase
32 Teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams. The 4 teams play each other once (Round Robin Format) and after that will be ranked 1 to 4. The winners and runners-up of each group go on to the Knock-Out Phase.Seeding for the group phase will be decided like this:Ranking in the group phase will be calculated as follows (after 3 rounds):First we look at the amount of wins over the other teams. The team with the most rounds won will be ranked first of the group. One round is a one match of best of 5 games. If teams have the same amount of rounds won, we look at the total amount of games won/lost. The team with the most games won will be the higher ranked team. If we still have teams with the same amount of rounds and games won, we look at the amount of rounds they played in every game they won to achieve their wins (the less rounds played, the better). If necessary we can also look at the amount of rounds they played in the games they lost (the more rounds played, the better). If, after that, we still have the number 1 and 2 teams with equal numbers, they will play an extra round against each other to decide the ranking. This extra round will be best of 3 games.

Once the invites for the games have been sent, you have 48 hours to join your games. If you fail to do so, the game may be registered as a loss for your team. If you need more time to join your games, please send me a pm and I'll see what I can do. Reserves and replacements are allowed before the knock-out phase at my discretion. Once we are in the knock-out phase no reserves or replacement players will be allowed. Account sitting is allowed, as long as it is done in accordance with the Conquer Club guidelines. If somebody takes a single turn for you, it has to be announced in the game chat. If somebody takes more than one turn for you and/or will be account sitting for you, it has to be announced in the game chat and this tournament thread, by either you or your sitter. If a player deadbeats in a game, his/her team forfeits that game. The team that wins the round should post their win in this forum thread. Additional Notes: I reserve the right to remove a player or a team from my tournament if I have a reason to do so.
